Sean Sabetkar scores the winner for Degerfors IF in their friendly vs GAIS yesterday:
*Sean also scored against Vasteras SK in the Svenska Cupen - Playoffs a couple of weeks ago.
""Sabetkar decided against GAIS in the genre rope
Beaten from the same surface, in the same goal cage - but the difference this time was that Sean Sabetkar did it in the red and white suit. His goal meant that DIF took another genre rep victory when GAIS was defeated 2-1 on Good Friday.
- A bit goal-hungry… That surface and I are starting to become one on this pitch, sad that we will soon switch to natural grass, jokes Sean Sabetkar and refers to the fact that he has now scored two goals from the same position on Stora Valla's artificial turf.
Sabetkar became a great match hero when Västerås SK beat Degerfors in the Swedish Cup with their goal extra time.
The feeling, to find the goal, however, the 25-year-old has obviously taken with him to Degerfors.
- I generally feel that I get to more situations in fixed situations and it is fun when you have that self-confidence and dare to step forward.
80 minutes into the game, Sean Sabetkar almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
The goal scorer, however, was afterwards satisfied with more than just the goal.
- We create a lot in the match and it is always positive. Then we have to try to push for the positions and become more efficient - you may not get as many goal chances in the Allsvenskan as here, says Sabetkar.
Degerfors had, among other things, four balls in the wood and consistently created more goal chances than Gais. Johan Bertilsson broke a pass already in the fifth minute and gave the home team the lead. Gais equalized in the second half, but it took until the 80th minute of play before the decision came.
How has the transition to Degefors been?
- Very simple and above expectations. Because everything went so fast and tight into a season, one wondered how it would go. But it has gone very well. The group is open, fantastic and very inviting. I felt welcome at once, says Sabetkar.
Sabetkar formed center lock with Nicklas Maripuu and Gustav Granath. In the second half, Erik Lindell stepped down in defense instead of Gustav Granath.
- It worked well and shows that we have a broad squad with many smart football players. Maripuu comes down and does it just fine. It will be a long season and everyone in the squad will be used, says Sabetkar.
Degerfors coach Tobias Solberg:
- That you have not played together before and do it so well, it indicates that they are skilled football players and who can play in different positions. It is a security to have so many in the squad who can contribute and also handle different roles.
In the second half, Anton Kralj jumped on the left wing and showed that he recovered well after the injury.
- It was fun to see. His first "45" and he was well hungry, with pressure in the step. He is persistent and fast, it will be exciting to follow, says Solberg.
The rematch against GAIS was the last before the Allsvenskan premiere, away against AIK, 12 April.
- But we have a U21 match on Tuesday (away against GIF Sundsvall) where there is the opportunity for playing time for those who need it, Solberg says."

I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.
