They are a regular second division team. Shapourzadeh use to play there.

One huge plus is that he will never be in danger of relegation which has been the theme recently when IPL players transfer to europe. He will have a stable stage to showcase his talents and get picked up by a bundesliga team ( first div)

FSV Frankfurt has been doing pretty poorly to be honest.

          2008-2009 15th
          2009-2010 15th
          2010-2011 13th
          2011-2012 13th
          2012-2013 4th
          2013-2014 13th
          2014-2015 13th

Bochum would have been a much better option because they have a rich Bundesliga history and they usually reach play-offs. Not so sure about Frankfurt considering their table finishes from past years

Last time they were 13th two times in a row they got 4rd place after that, so we shouldn't make early conclusions :P

I'm glad he is leaving Iran finally, and to a good league as well.

To be honest, the guy got opportunities to play in decent Euro teams because he was raised in the Euro system. I truly believe that many Iranian based players were better than him, but our IPL's low reputation in international football hurts these players who are good enough to be successful in Europe. People call me an IPL hater, but all I say is that IPL should attempt to privatize and increase quality, as it's holding our players back. If our league were more professional, our players who stay in the league would mature better, and those who are good enough will be picked up at 13 from Euro leagues and have long fruitful careers in Europe.

Our issue really is IPL. It has little reputation, and honestly, players who stay in the league too long often drop in quality substantially. If people want to disagree and call me crazy for disliking the current IPL, that is fine.

Son recently signed for Tottenham, quality wise he's not really better than our Azmoun. He couldn't score against us in 270 minutes, but still plays for a top side in England
That could have been Hajsafi, but he's Iranian....

Lol a Korean defender just signed for Dortmund, what a joke.

Sepahan sarparast said that Ehsan is for sure no longer with Sepahan. He says he's going to sign with a German team, but he still doesn't know which one. It will be announced when the deal is done.

But he has way better stats than Azmoun. He played really good for a top side in Germany so it's really not a surprising new.

On the other hand Park Joo Ho (the Korean defender) went to europe in 2011 and proved himself in the Swiss league and Bundesliga, so once again it's not surprising to see him join a good bundesliga side.
