That will be misinterpretation of the rules.
    Qatar 3 2 1 0 5 1 +4 7
    Yemen 3 1 1 1 4 4 0 4
    Jordan 3 1 0 2 4 4 0 3
    Palestine 3 1 0 2 2 6 −4 3

That is the table of Group A and Ranking.

Show me the rule that said that table has to be ranked according to H2H games then i will reconsider .

That is all WAFF said as regulation, nothing about H2H consideration.

Three group winners and the best runner up from all groups will qualify to the knockout stage, group A winner will play against best runner-up and Group B winner will play against Group C winner. If the best runner-up is from Group A; then the winner from Group A will play against Group C winner, and group B winner will play against the best runner-up in the semi finals.

Due to the varying number of teams per group, teams in different groups would have played different number of matches. Therefore, in order to ensure equality when comparing the runner-up teams of all the groups, all teams will be compared across similar number of matches. WAFF will decide on the number of matches. In principle, the results of the matches between the runner-up team and the bottom placed team in the group will be considered null and void. All points, goal scored and goals conceded in this match will not be taken into account.
The losing teams from the semis will play to determine the third place winner, while the winners will play in the final to determine the champions and runner-ups.

Even if we ignore Group A 4 teams versus B 3 teams.

      Group A
      Country - Games-W-T-L-GF-GA-GD-Points
      Qatar 3 2 1 0 5 1 +4 7
      Yemen 3 1 1 1 4 4 0 4
      Jordan 3 1 0 2 4 4 0 3
      Palestine 3 1 0 2 2 6 −4 3

      Yemen 4 points & +0 G

      Group B

      IR.Iran 2 1 1 0 4 2 +2 4
      Saudi Arabia 2 1 1 0 5 4 +1 4
      Bahrain 1 0 0 1 0 2 −2 0

      Saudi 4 points +4 Points & 1 G

If adjusted according to the rule then Yemen scores against Palestine will be ignored ( Yemen beat Palestine 3-1) .
      Yemen 1 points &-2G

As you can see Yemen can not be selected as a best 2nd team unless Waff official ignore their own stated rules and hand pick Yemen.

DEAR, next time when you want to write something, do a little search about it, it doesn't hurt believe me and you won't make a joke of yourself by insisting on wrong claims. it's not that hard to accept a sooti.

Arabic version of WAFF website, I assume you understand a little Arabic
      http://www.the-waff.com/waff-news/%D...%87%D9%84-970/

Fars news and khabaronline are reporting that Yemen are the best 2nd placed team( according to tournament organisers) so it must be so. The eliminated Saudis are trying to find a way to eliminate Iran to go through.

I have seen Fars News and WAFF official news. It's true Yemen has been chosen as best second team . I have not seen anywhere in their stated regulation about H2H preference , unless there is such regulations and teams has been notified before.

          Saudi case.

Saudi argue now same H2H preference has to apply in group B. Since they tie iran and have same points they hope perhaps a draw will decide top team.
That won't work since apparently WAFF officials has decided Points is first, H2H is 2nd and GD is the third.

From WAFF Regulation in the Past

WAFF has apply this preference in the past and if it has changed i have yet to see it.
            GD was ahead of H2H

Here s from regulation effective 2001

            Article (1) Definitions

The team with the greater number of points in each group declared the winner of the group. 10/4
If two teams or more are equal in the basis of the above criterion, their place shall be determined as follows: 10/5

Greater number of goals scored in all the group matches (B)
Results of the teams concerned in all the group matches (C)

تیم فوتبال امید ایران با صعود به مرحله نیمه نهایی روز شنبه به مصاف یمن میرود.

Iran media called it Lobby but Saudi media call it Protest.
According to Saudi Media (Okaz) . Saudi officials last night protest strange interpretation of regulations by WAFF officials . They had lengthy meetings and Officials has rejected Saudi protest.
Imagine if Iran was ranked 2nd and they pick Yemen over undefeated Iranian side. I imagine protests and crying foul .. conspiracies..
As much as we hates anything related to filthy Saudis , they had a good team next to Qatar behind Iran.

احتجاج سعودي.. نظام غريب يخرج أولمبي الأخضر من البطولة

                Saudi Federation too

Next for Iran is Yemen U23.
I saw their game versus Qatar. They are good passing team with better team works. They held Qatar for 2/3 of games when they lost the game because of lack of physical strength. Iran should beat Yemen comfortably as they are weaker than Syria & Saudi teams.

Khakpour will have a changes in his starting up line. We might see changes in MF and If Danial is out of injury he will play as one of DM. Mohammadi more likely will start unlike previous games as reserve. We might see a change in D line as well.

what a pitch. I wish all the teams in the Persian Gulf League has the same standard pitch for their main team and youth team so they can develop. Also all the stadiums and the Iranian football academy. Iff should have new rules to all the teams that are in azedegan league and Persian Gulf League to have a standrad pitch for their main team and their youth team.

It would be cool if our boys won the WAFF before leaving the WAFF. That would be the icing on the cake lol. Like pirates, snatch away the WAFF Cup.

This might sound stupid but maybe Iran's weather conditions are not favourable for optimal grass growth.

Anyone with a insight in agriculture can share their opinions on this matter. It would be much appreciated.

If Middle East Arabs, South American teams like Peru and Colombia can have nice grass, Iran should have the same capability. Those countries suffer from dryness or in the case of South America, high altitude but the grass turns out fine.

Your question is not stupid. I will add few comments since I grow many plants and take care of few yards. I am for ORGANIC growing without any chemicals (herbicide or pesticides). I consider not using chemicals very important for the health of people and environment. Drainage of water or over watering in case of Tabriz or Bandar Anzali because of rain or too much rain must be taken into account.

Similar to anything in life, anything good requires work, money, and constant attention. For example, those who do well in an exam, they read and do their homework.

In planting, the soil must be a good and new soil. One should not use old and depleted soil from nutrition. Good soil has many NATURAL ingredients. I create my own mulch which is mostly plump and vegetable leftovers such as banana peel and leftover lettuce. Once the soil is ready, the grass (sod or seed) can be chosen and planted. Watering is very important. Unfortunately, in Iran, similar to many things our people are lazy and do not pay attention to water. Watering must be done before sun rise or after sun set. The best time to water is 3-4am. For grass to look good, the lawn mower's blade must be sharp and kept sharp. To have a back up for repairs, a few meters must be grown on the side to replace the damaged parts without delays.

If grass is sprayed with chemicals similar to golf courses, this must not be considered good. Chemicals can harm people and environment. Living organic is more work but in my view it is worth it for healthy living.
