    Syrian Olympic Team

Just like Iran, several Syrian players from current U23 team are member of their National team and good players.

    - محمود البحر - يوسف قلفا -عبد الله الشامي - احمد الأشقر - - محمد مرمور......
Nasouh Nkdhle , Yousef Kalfa , Mrmour , Amro Jeniat ,...

Their No 9 Nasouh ( Bald guy) NT member is physically strong, relentless runner , leader of the team and dangerous player and will give Iran side hard time/

I know right! He was a little too aggressive too. Trying to pick a fight early on in the match.

Yeah definitely, no way that dude was under 23. Maybe under 43.

This is test , warm up games for Us. The more stronger they are , the older they are it's better for us. I wish they had their Senior team instead.

Daneshgat ( #4) has two yellows and won't play versus Syria.
Either Moradmand or Salimi will play as new CD .
Moradmand has more experience ( Sepahan & Padideh) but careless while Salimi ( Horozgan & Fajr less inexperienced but good defender( younger too).

Hopefully Khakpour will bring back Abdollahzadeh and bench Mohbbi (LB)

I am fearful that we will get another Ben Williams.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

I'd rather lose this final and win against them in January. This tournament is meaningless, what counts is the Oly qualification.

                          I like this LB lad.
He's quick, tall and physical. Seems to get most of his interceptions and markings right too.

That's a plus over Hajsafi who should never be used as LB. I wonder if CQ is watching this lad. Logic says he ought to be as that post has caused so much trouble for TM and even led to our elimination from Asia cup. Is he? I really don't know

Mansourian got Aliyari & Motahari practically for Free.!

Beside what you mentioned he has strong Free Kick. He is a cool kid and is getting better that's important.

He is more offensive minded hopefully CQ will not use it against him.

Here his goal against Al shabab Saudi.

That's ok because he is Bersian he can do it. A saudi would say Berzen.

This was the 1st full match I watched from TM Omid since the Asian qualifiers and I think overall, we looked much more organized and cohesive than we did against Saudi Arabia - despite missing lots of key players.

I was VERY impressed with the diversity in and variety of our offence - the boys were coming at them from every angle, running straight at them, through them, low crosses, high crosses, lots of shots (albeit mostly mishit), etc. Basically they tried everything in the book and there wasn't one stone unturned as far as offense.

I thought the 1st half was pretty even tactically with Iran's organized play versus Yemen's technique and speed. In hindsight, the Yemenis put everything into the 1st half and I think they really overstretched themselves, because the 2nd half was all Iran and we completely dominated them.

Having said that, I think we still need a lot of work in our defense. The Syrians are pretty impressive from the little that I saw, so this is definitely going to be a good test for us.

And speaking of working on our defense, what's with the super-gay celebrations from our defenders when they score?! First it was Moradmand and now Daneshgar - someone needs to slap these guys and tell 'em to pull themselves together!

As far as the ref, I too think that he was fine until that penalty call - then everything went to shits. The penalty call was TERRIBLE, but those two yellow cards to Chaab and Keshmarzi in injury time when he should have just ejected the Yemeni player, were beyond retarded.
