    Whats wrong with this picture?

This is a screen shot from today's Barca game on first week of La Liga 2015-16, away to Atheletic Bilbao's home stadium, San mames, in Spain's Basque region.

    What's weird about this picture?

Did one of our companies in Iran sponsor a game in La Liga or were they trying to censor a advertising of a beer company?

No. It is the proper ad in the stadium.
          It's Pars Online's ad.
As if anyone outside Iran will be interested in the snail speed pars-online offers, that too with half the bloody internet blocked!!!
Such waste of money to use in a venue that has absolutely zero chance for the product. And if the target audience is only for those Iranians inside Iran who may be watching the game, then it's still a waste of money. It's not as if there are so many choices available for them. It's what the gov't ''ALLOWS'' them to have. Perhaps snail speed and half snail speed and quarter snail speed!

Poorly targeted advertising dollars, unless they're planning an international expansion?

I just looked up their pricing online and it's exteremly expensive.

$75/month for a unlimited bandwidth with a speed of 128kbps burstuble to 2mbps LOL

I pay $40/month with Comcast and my speed is 75mbps.

I was going to say terrible defensive shape by Bilbao given how open their right side is and how they are holding a high line in the worst part you could hold a highline.

Then I saw worse things wrong with the picture..

Many things in Iran are monopoly, it is not just Internet. Where there is monopoly, there are abuses.

I agree, it is waste of money to advertise in a language or service that the majority will not use it. This adv. would have more effective in Afghanistan.

I actually think this is a genius move.

Their brand currently has a psychological advantage over other internet service providers in Iran since the audience who watched this game will talk about it and they automatically think that if they are advertising in such an important match they must be a good company. I'm sure the media and newspapers in Iran will write about it too and it will get even more exposure. People will tell their friends that they saw an ad of this iranian company in a barcelona game where if they had just watched the ad on Shabake 3 they would rarely talk about it. If they had just advertisied in Iran, people would just think they are just another internet company but when you see them live in this important match you will visit their website and actually check their products. It gets your attention a lot more.

Even though the targeted audience is for those in Iran but it's still a great exposure for them and the fact that we are talking about it, it shows that their advertising is working. I had never heard of them before but now they managed to get a recognition for their brand outside of Iran.

Both barca and RM have huge fanbase in Iran, and I can make this statement that their matches in Iran perhaps have much more viewers than Perspolis and Esteghlal combined. But still given the enormous cost of such exposures abroad, I too believe it is a waste of advertising budget to say the least!

However rest assured that you're not the only one who shared such snapshot with masses, but there are perhaps thousands or even more viewers who caught this and share with others. Thus a genius idea to get maximum exposure and credit!

In this regime, any time you see a wastage of funds (which is extremely often and widespread), you can bet your top dollar that there have been middlemen who pocketed a hefty amount with little regard for its uses and benefits. And again, you can bet those middlemen belong to IRGC, who are not accountable to anyone and not answerable for anything.

Just recently we saw the hands of IRGC at destroying yet another sector of productivity (even if weakened by harsh economy); tea producers. Instead of supporting our own production and producers to become stronger and regain their market share in middle east, they go to china and import cheaper tea as their brand of solution for controlling prices of goods!!!
Now that means cheap, low quality crap brought in which crushes the already weakened home producers. But what do they care? They pocket the commission as middlemen!
The story of every sector in Iranian economy!!!

So if futilely advertising their crap snail-net in a third country that has absolutely no hope or prospect in terms of marketing looks too stupid? Then no worries or surprises. Just another IR style of doing business that makes no sense.

Iran is not only country where middlemen(women) make the money and very little benefit the cause.

Unfortunately, many people care about personal profits or interests rather than national interest. You mentioned tea, there are many other examples such as wheat, rugs, etc.

When people of our country care for it, then we will have a better country.
