How are teams like Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan so good ? Their domestic leagues are also very strong but it is so weird because they are such random places?

-Former Soviet states are generally pretty good in futsal especially Kazkahstan. Kairat Almaty is one of the best clubs in UEFA tournaments.
-The case for Azerbaijan: they are basically all Brazilians. Look at the last World Cup, they were also called "Brazilbaijan".

3. Azerbaijan 2pts
4. Kazakhstan 2pts
Still strange that all games were so close but we won by that margin against Russia (probably for the first time). Not sure which team Russia sent.

Good interview with Shamsaee in Farsi http://ffiri.ir/fa/news/10821/%D8%B4...A7%D8%B3%D8%AA
Here are the main points.
- He will focus on youth development with a long term view
- We did the same thing in 2005 and we benefited that for 10-11 years after paying the price for 3 years
- We need to focus on under 19 and 19-23 age brackets
- The league player average age is high but we are here to "burn and build" (amadeheem keh besoozeem o besaazeem) even if it means loosing a cup or tournament
- We want to put the right constructs and processes in place even if it is not Shamsaee who is in charge
- He has already contacted Dr Sofalmanesh who is a FIFA and AFC Futsal instructor and lives in Canada and has asked him to come to Iran to help and he is also working with Nazari who was selected the best goalkeeper in the world in 2009.
- They have had online meetings and they are interviewing for a solid foreign trainer
