Well. This is not something new. All weaker teams do that against bigger teams. Of course they are going to give their best for 90 minutes; regardless of how many we score on them, they will try their best to concede the least goals possible. There is a difference between Guam and India. Do not be fooled by Guam's result against them. They are a more professional and experienced team. Guam are BABRE TOO KHALI banking on 6 lucky points, therefore if you noted, they came forward a bit after us conceding few goals against them and that is how we scored more. India will not do that. For them losing 4-0 or 3-0 against a side like Iran is a national pride. And at the end of the day, a better goal difference may let them qualify for Asian games. I am telling you guys. India is going to win against Guam and Turkmenistan in their remaining matches. I know they were unlucky to lose against Guam!

However, I guarantee you a 9 points in their remaining three matches against Guam and Turkmenistan. Guam will stay at 6 points and Turkmenistan will be the last in group. We got to wish for that anyways because our results against the weakest of the group will not count. And it will be great if Turkmenistan becomes last because for some reasons they are our black horse and we are going to get the worst result against them; even India will beat them away but we will always have problems against them because for them losing to Iran is losing the Touran legend!

You are overestimating India very much IMO. Guam is a better team with a much more physical and prepared squad that is highly motivated. And India will most likely lose vs Turkmenistan home and away, and maybe draw Guam at home. Not to mention that they will come into this match demoralized with 0 points, knowing they will likely concede couple of goals.

This should litteraly be cakewalk for TM, a typical minnow WCQ game whether they park the bus or not

Z joon bro. I agree that this current India may not have great qualities of a rated 2 or even 3 team in Asia, however Indian soccer goes back to many years before even Guam was created! I agree they may even look weaker against Guam, But what I am saying, they will not do the same fatal mistake of fake over-confident Guam to move forward after conceding goals. I am not saying India is a powerhouse hahahahhah ... I am saying that they will do their best to concede the least possible goals. India always respects Iran because it has been around for the longest time . This humble acceptance of power houses superiority have prevented India from losing a double margin games against likes of Iran and Korea or even bigger teams. That is why they make it to the Asian Cup and Asian olympics every now and then; while the Guams of the world just stay behind!

Let us not forget, once upon time, them and Burma were the kings of Asian football. And both nations are now among the minnows, however they shall always praise and respect their masters; unlike fake Guam pride caused by 6 lucky points; even expecting a win in Tehran. they were a joke bro. Their over-confidence is going to stop them right here with max 7 or 8 points. I am going to bet on this if you are willing to

Not saying he will be much of a treat, but Sunil Chhetri is a decent striker for Indian / minnow standards. He has a good goal-match ratio for the national team, look up his statistics.

I expect India to finish with 0 points at the end of the round.

As for Chetri and ''stats'', remember my age old mantra: don't just look at the numbers, take a wholesome, deeper look.
Numbers often lie ... or at least hide the truth.
Meaning, The kind of opponents they usually face are like Nepal, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, .... etc. Getting the better of those defenders is not the same as ours.
I have seen him a couple of times. Yes, he may be quick and with a bit of ball skills. But physically he can be bumped off the ball with ease. In fact a little physical game will totally dominate their entire team and we can expect a similar shoreline as our Guam match

A sidenote on the coaches of Guam and India:

They both want(ed) to do their best and beat Iran for the 3 points.

Yet one of them got overconfident and said he is going to surprise & beat Iran, like in the 300 movie, which made us Iranians lose a bit of respect for him and his unrealistic talking.

The other coach, on the other hand, said he realizes that it will be a very hard game, but he will follow the plan and do his best to put up a good performance, thus making himself sound respected.

Both coaches are of English origin. They both coach a minnow team of AFC that has an impossible job of qualifying. Yet they are so different in the way they talk about Iran's football.

Lesson of the day: Always judge people individually, and not by their race or nation.

P.S. how can I change my friggin username? Someone help pls

One had won two matches straight and the other had lost two matches straight. That should be the main difference in my book.

I can see CQ telling the boys to slow down in the second half as we are guests here and they've had enough!
