    Not bad eh?

Do we say the same thing about strikers like Klose and Keane and Villa who score goals against teams like Andorra, Luxembourg, San Marino and Malta...?
I never understood the logic of this criticism of Daei.
As long as he scored against the opponent, he did his job. Forwards score goals. Even today all of us would take an in-form Daei over any of our forwards.
Malta, Andorra and them would easily beat Maldives, Nepal, Guam from a decade ago and such.

I would have Daei as main striker in my all time best 11

In a 4-3-3 formation with Messi & Baggio right behind him.

          the good old days....
          time flies!

my all time favourite player, i will always have warm memories of TM with Daei, Azizi, Bagheri etc.
Iran deserves better, TM deserves better.

average overall footballer, but he was fantastic finisher by any standards, especially in his prime..!

his record international scoring record is very unlikely to ever be broken..!!
id give it less than 5%

And teams like England, Spain, France and Italy are much stronger than TM ever was. What I'm saying is he did his job and took his opportunities.

Exactly, Iran would have no trouble beating all the lower European teams anyways. All the baltics like Lithuania latvia lichenstien teams like Finland San marino andorra Luxembourg kazakhstan Wales etc we would get a lot of goals too
