I think the man point here is NOT which European based player played for his club the most but which of them were the best to be a starter in your team!

Based on this, I don't know why Shojaei even make your lists!

You can have both Bagheri and Nekounam in the formation as 2 CDMs. I don't see where the problem is.

Have Mahdavikia as RM, with Ali Daei and Vahid Hashemian as the strikers. Masoud Shojaei can be LM and Ali Karimi as the CAM.

In the goal have Alireza Haghighi. As CB put Khakpour (don't want to put him as the head coach, well, no need to explain )

There are other variations. Like Dejagah for Mahdavikia. But Mahdavikia was 10 times better than Ashkan at RM/RW. Hands down. So Ashkan can sit on the bench for Agha Mehdi

any list that does not include Hashemian is a non-starter ....... 46 goals in the Bundesliga ..... Think about that one for a second. Yes, that is 46 goals in a league that these days we would love to see just ONE Iranian player be able to make it, let alone score goals. A player that played 75% of his professional games in the Bundesliga and at one point was a one of the top goal scorers of the league. These days we have 6 threads opened whenever Gucci has a near goal playing for the Athletics.

If we are choosing the most successfull ones, then Hashemian definately belongs ahead of Daei.
