But man, the admiration of Queiroz goes too far. I want him to stay too because I believe he can make our team better, but he is no god. His achievements are still not better than his previous colleagues, the QF's of the Asian Cup and Group Stage of the World Cup has been achieved before. I think it's pretty normal that some people here expect better results after 4 years. Oman tie was not the real problem, but the way how we performed is worrisome. I thought we were done dealing with Arab teams because I hope CQ would have figured how to play them since he is coaching TM for 4 years now.
His decisions to play too defensive against weaker opponents and playing Hajsafi as LB when he proves to suck on that position time after time leave a lot to be desired. Just to give a few examples.

Probably top 3 worst performances of TM under CQ (With the Lebanon and Turkmenistan matches)

What would CQ do if he had real quality? If he had 3 bundesliga starters, 2 la liga starters, and a respected Serie A defender?
TM talent sort of sucks right now and no one wants to admit it. But anyone who's been watching for 15+ years and sees our history knows this.

It definitely says something about Queiroz's coaching abilities to implement the right tactics, get the boys motivated to go out on full force and prepare them for Oman overall. From yesterday, it looked like none of the above were done accordingly. It was shite.

We don't have a single player in 1st division Eng/Germ/Italy/Spain. Our best prospects are non-starters in the Russia league and Eredivisie. Given the lack of talent, CQ is doing well, and has outperformed his predecessors.

But CQ must stay now and improve, we started this qualification with him and we will need to end it with him (of course except major slip up), however after 2018 I think it would be time for someone else to step up.

Looking at the past achievements of Oman, it is safe to say that they are a 2nd tier Asian side at best! Even our league is superior to Oman, so I don't think that the ''shortage of talent'' is an issue. We had pretty experienced players like Andranik, Hosseini and few others on the field..what they had shown was far below what should be expected from them. Talents can't carry the entire team by themselves.
Iranian fans complain so much. Just wait til CQ gives up and leaves, we'll rue the day we gave him so much crap for NO REASON

Give me a break.

With the sanctions being gone, we can start seeing the effects of it in most sports, football included. I believe that now, we can get any half-decent coach with the money that we are giving to CQ regardless anyways.
Maybe not someone with the resume of CQ, but a foreign coach that will do a decent job with Iran. And unlike most people I don't think that CQ is a god that makes us do wonders, in the end on paper, he did a great job but nothing extraordinary, and someone of the level of Paul Le Guen could most likely do as good with the level of promising Iranian talents coming up in the next few years.
You may think differently, and free to do so, I know that there are several members on these forums that think of CQ as some sort of Messiah of Iranian football, it's your opinions after all, and everyone has a different one. He is a great coach and did a lot of good in Iranian football, but to me there are a lot of managers that could realistically coach Iran and do as well as him at least. But anyways we are talking few years early, he started this and will need to stay to complete what his contract was renewed for; qualify Iran to the WC. Afterwards in 2018, there will be place for these words.

I've rarely posted lately due to a lack of time (and also due to the cyclical nature of these discussions). In any case, props to the likes of ramingeles2000 and Ando_Teymourian for seeing the big picture as it is and not as they'd like to imagine it to be.
