All this criticism about an away draw at Oman, a team who has proven to not be a push over for any team in the region!! I suppose we expect our footballers and team to play more like Barca, beating everyone in our path by a multitude of goals, since we have oh so many home grown world class footballers on our roster!! Yes, shame on us for not beating Oman in their house by 6 goals

I really don’t get this innate Iranian mentality of superiority over anyone and everyone regardless of who they are, or the circumstances currently surrounding our football!

The sooner we start making some serious long-term investment in our football, the quicker we will reach our optimum level, but this is not possible in today’s Iranian footballing world, no matter how talented our footballers may be.

Definately not a good Game today. But..........i like the fact how the Team came Back and equalized the Game......i can Remember Games from years ago we would loose 0-2 to these Arabs instead of drawing. A Point on the Road is a Point on the Road at the end of the day and we still on Top.

Missed two players?? No my friend it missed about 6 players, so what does that have to do with anything. 95% of the goals scored typically go through several scrambling feet before put into the back of the net, does that mean that it was not intentional! No, it does not matter how many players feet it went through, it was a nice cross into the box with the intent to score! Also Hossaini has scored many brilliant goals for TM, so what makes you believe that the cross was not intended for him.

For a team that is ranked #1 in Asia anything other than a win is not acceptable. Are we going to expect TM isn't capable of winning unless its at Azadi, with good weather, all the starts lined up? Same excuses were said about the tie against Turkmenistan. We have the talent and the firepower, they are not being utilized correctly.

i dont think so, that wont help them or iran, plus we came back from 1-0 down and drew, we still have home games

We all know that the FIFA ranking doesn't mean diddlysquat! No way TM is currently #1 in Asia, but does not mean she can't be with proper investment!! Also, being #1 in a region doesn't automatically equate to wining all of your matches!! By your logic, since Argentina is currently the number one team according to FIFA ranking, she should be wining all of her matches!! Right??

By the way, News flash: The World Cup Champs lost to Ireland today!!

                      1. I thought under CQ our defense had become good?!! or does it only count when we park the bus??

                      2. Our defenders (except Vouria Ghafouri) all even sucked individually!

                      3. Oman could and should have scored more goals (In that sense, they sucked too)!

                      4. When our first dangerous goal chance (the only one?) comes after Oman's goal at minute 53, you've gotta say you have a disaster of a team!

                      5. Lack of friendlies is so obvious!

                      6. Our only flawless player was Vouria Ghafouri!

                      7. What the h*ll was Dejagah doing during the whole game, making fouls and picking on Omani players?

                      8. Hajsafi has to play in LAM/LW!! We are in need of Pouladi very badly!

I think you're a little biased in your views. Voria made a lot of mistakes, dude. Better than Heydari, but he had a lot of errant passes/bad dribbles. He played with more poise than most of the rest of the team, but flawless... Our entire team performed poorly today. It happens, let's move on instead of trying to isolate who was good, and who was bad. Our defense was mediocre as a whole, and the rest were poor. Let's not fingerpoint and cause hashieh. We will do better in the upcoming games.

LOL i like how people like you (blind people who dont watch games properly) compare our losses to the losses of bigger teams.

Germany didnt lose to Ireland because they cant make 3+ passess. They lost because the ball was just not going to the back of the net for them.

We lost to Oman because we cant pass, defend, hold the ball, score, run and so on and so on.

So wake up and stop making yourself feel better by comparing our loss to greater teams. They play well and they lose. We play horrible and we draw. We dont deserve the ranking or the score-sheets we get in football.
In the beginning, there was nothing. And God said: "Let there be light!" And there was still nothing, but you could see it.

Thanks for your view but who/what am I biased against/for? To me, our players sucked so much, Pouria's game appeared flawless. None of our defenders marked the Omani players and the rest of the players just lost the ball the whole time. The midfield was dominated by Oman and they should have scored a few goals if they didn't suck. We could score a lucky goal and I'm thankful for that but IMO, a 1-1 draw did not reflect the game! This is not creating hashiyeh. This is something they should work on to change. I'm very very happy that the Japan game is just a friendly or else, in the state we're in, we'd have been in real trouble!
