    Win: Guam, India
    Draw: Turkmenistan (not arab), Oman

The group is still open so there is no need to worry, but if TM continue like this I dont think we can qualify to the World cup. So far very weak!!
CQ has no other plan than parking the bus. When we start to deviate from this "parking the bus" tactic we lose (Sweden, Bosnia and more...)

omg its so annoying reading the crap that gets written here sometimes! It wasn't a great performance but it wasn't such a bad result either. a draw away actually is more to our benefit.

australia lost 2-0 to jordan today!
these things happen, take it easy guys.

By your logic, since Argentina is currently the number one team according to FIFA ranking, she should be wining all of her matches!! Right??

By the way, News flash: The World Cup Champs lost to Ireland today!!
Blah blah blah, this is the same swan song as the one people sang when Iran tied Turkmenistan. Iran is not Argentina, and Oman is not Ireland. Investment or not, youth development or not, current TM has the firepower and capability and could've won today's game.

This is the best you can do? blah blah blah? Please be respectful. No one said that Iran is Argentina, nor that Oman is Ireland. You were suggesting that we should win all our matches in our region since we are #1 in Asia, and I was trying to draw you a comparison in another region. So don't try to make it sound as though people are drawing comparisons between Iran and Argentina or Germany.

And based on what logic do you feel that we should wipe the floor with all other teams, because we've had such a professional footballing culture in Iran for decades upon decades, and our footballers have been nurtured and developed from youth and .....??

I assume you believe that it is the coaching and nothing else that is cause for our sub-par performances from time to time, right?

the majority of members on pfdc are ultra pathetic. australia lost to jordan, germany lost to northern ireland, italy have been consistently losing to teams like belarus struggling with malta, netherlands are basically out and won't even go to Euros. Iran are in a strong position to qualify, didn't have their best day or their best player either (JB). Not that its an excuse, we should beat Oman but this is football, these things happen. We know TM's strengths are in big games anyways. We have one against japan coming up and that will be a true gage of TM's situation atm. And now for the morons saying CQ must go....Guess what, he is the best we can get, morons like Ghotbi and GN failed to get us to WC 2010, CQ is an amazing coach for iran who has made Iran a big game side, and could care less about the fallout of drawing oman away from home in crappy weather in a second round WC qualifier. We will still go thru, no our team is not shit, calm tf down. This happens whenever one of our players gets subbed for his club team or they lose....ppl freak out and can't seem to realize what happens after they freak out....TM goes on to put in some good performances and get some good results.Especally with the professional mentality of CQ. We have a coach with a professional, stable mentality maybe its time for our fans to have one too

tbf, it wasnt as much about TM underperforming, as Oman executing very well-thought-out game plan to near perfection..!!
most of their players performed with good pace, technically abilities and Excellent Poise and Composure in possession.
Passed the ball around effectively on offense , pressed us high up the pitch defensively and double, triple team our ball carriers as soon as they got possession...!
they defended and attacked very well as Team, almost the whole game long ..! even on the goal they somewhat luckily conceded they had some 8-9 players back defending in the box..!!

it was sorta reminiscent of TM performance vs Argentina..!!?

i think they All knew that the only REALISTIC option for qualifying to next round of WCQualifying was beating us at home and then hope to gather enough points in the remaining matches to at least manage one of the better 2nd place spots..!!

I wouldn't mind having Le Guen as coach after CQ

I think as usual our dear members are overreacting out of paranoia (Typical Iranians trait)

If you carefully review our track record against Oman, it doesn't look all that bright, well at least for the past 14 that we have not been able to beat them in any of our encounters, which includes that infamous 2004 AC match in which we performed even worse than today's, for had it not been for the Bahraini referee's "Rahman Delawar" big favor on not having red carded Nosrati for his vicious stumping of the Omani star player Imad Ali who also scored both goals on us, and later on not ejecting Rezaei and Badavi for smacking each other on the pitch and before everyone's eyes, we would and should have lost that match miserably. Not to mention that TM into the tournament excelled and played better and smoother, until we got robbed by the referee against China.

Below is a screenshot of our track record against Oman. Mind you that this website for whatever reason is missing our 2013 1-3 loss against Oman in Oman (With CQ at helm):

Just take a deep breath, cool down and thank God that it didn't get worse and we left Oman with an away draw. Always think of the worst case scenario in the hardest times, it helps!
