      We have those exact stereotypes about Turks and rashtis as well.
      Turks are known to be hard working and industrious.
      Rashtis are know to be liberal and compassionate...

      Its the same way people in the states make jokes about the south or texas or...

            There are lot's of jokes about ethnic Arabs in Khuzestan too (where I used to live in the 1980s). Pretty funny ones but some were also quite offensive. I recall telling those jokes to Tehrani kids and they would cringe; we used to think of Tehranis as soosool.
