just one of those bad decision, brainfart moments mostly due to lack of match sharpness..! but overall still a semi- solid keeping display..!
EDIT: His forearms hit the ball and made it bounce off the Japanese player's shoulder.

We played fantastic. Especially in the first half, where we totally neutralized Japan. They could not do anything to us in the first 45 minutes. And we finished that first half with a deserved 1-0 lead.
But as expected, Japan came into the 2nd half much harder. I wouldn't have expected anything less from a quality team. And even if that blunder by Haghighi did not happen, I'm sure Japan would have continued giving 100% for that equalizer, which might have occured anyway, one way or another.
TM plays much better during friendlies against quality teams, because of the reduced tension of a friendly match. It would be nice to see this kind of play all the time in the next round of WCQ.
Anyway, we now preserve our undefeated record in Asia for more than 3 years, if I'm not mistaken.
I'm off to eat some sushi now.

Accept it or not, they along with everyone else are going to make our lives a living hell in this round and the next in qualification.

"Team Melli Fails to Defeat Japan on West Asian Soil for the First Time in 26"
True or not, it's a title that gives off a very negative connotation and is targeted at discrediting the team and the performance (even if the contents of the editorial says otherwise). This is not impartial news writing but rather the work of someone that has an agenda and wants to portray a very particular angle to the transpired events.
i thought this piece( of crap )was even a worse example of such

i figure PFDC is catering to such sensationalist articles in hopes of more exposure and readers..!!???

Here's a golden portion:
Since then, the fans have not only seen Iran’s worst ever standing at a World Cup and Iran’s worst ever standing at an Asian Cup under the tutelage of Queiroz but now face the prospect of Iran’s worst ever performance at the World Cup qualifiers and a potential exit from the early group stage for the first time ever.
For some extra icing on the cake, Queiroz is reported to have told his men after the Oman match that they didn’t look anything like Asia’s best side on the pitch – quite ironic really, considering his constant assertions and reminders in the past year as to why Iran is not, cannot and will not be the best team in Asia.
Absolute nonsense.
