Good performance boys. Had it not been for Haghighi's fuckup we would have won but the result doesn't matter anyway. CQ should have kept Ezzatolahi in the game.

What a beautiful game as CQ promised. Only for Haghighi mistake, Jappys got heart and partially came back to the game.
For those inside and outside Iran that keep moaning about CQ's style. I have said it before and say it again when CQ took over he realised that TM could not attack and defend at the same time and he first installed his own defensive tactics leading to today a bunch of players that could do both and are going to improve further.
I don't mind Haghighi's odd mistake, so many times he has bravely saved us.
What a defensive ground header-block by PAG. Truly beyond the call of duty.
Torabi's fine finish from rebound was beautiful whilst the young man's defensive abilities is upto question espessially when he switches to Central midfield, any other game he would have been sent off along one or two more Japs.
I can only imagine that Ando was carrying an injury, reason why he didn't play.
CQ's dilemma would be how to replace Hosseini-Montazeri come 2018?

great performance overall. Great game by Amiri (showed speed, control and technique), Ezzatolahi (played with no nerves against japan), Dejagah (trying to boss people around and most times it worked), Hajsafi (did well both in defence and offense). Torabi (to hustle throughout the game).

Really enjoyed the game. It was great to watch. MVP Dejagah. He played like before. Ezzatollahi should have proven his place in team melli.
What is more interesting is that Iran can easily handle teams like Japan, with all it's legionnaires. Some of them play in great teams, like Dortmund. Those iranian deserve a lot more!Comment

Better performance by TM but a few points:
1. Good to see all of our less experienced players to perform really well! Ezzatollahi, Rezaeian, Torabi, were all good!
2. Time to put Dejagah on the bench? He does a lot and I mean ALOT of "takravi" nowadays and a lot of times he slows us down! Not to talk about often losing the ball! Today, just like against Oman I was really frustrated by him and every time he got the ball I was scared of something going wrong! nd guess what... 80% of the times, it did!
He's not in form and I think others need to fill his spot for a while.
3. What was the thought behind subbing Ando with Dejagah in the last seconds of the game? To waste time, not to risk receiving another goal? I really did not get the purpose! That would have been a fantastic sub if it came earlier (preferably right after the second half) though!
4. Towards the end of the game, you could easily see, we were holding the ball, thinking what to do with it until the speedy Japanese players stole it from us! We need to become much faster in thinking and passing!
All in all..... an improvement from before and again good to see our young inexperienced players doing well! But we are far from our top form (like back in the WC or even when we played against Chile and Sweden)!Comment

i think 1-0 woulda been a more fair result.
that was a real tokhmy equalizer to give up by ARH..!!
so far couple of slight miss-judgments on his part has cost us 2 goals in the last two games..!! mostly result of infrequent game minutes and typical rust from not being match fit/sharp as a keeper..!! in this Winter transfer he really needs to force Rubin hand in order to loan him off elswhere in europe hopefully where he would get more frequent starts..!!
overall he still seems somewhat solid as our keeper ...! not so sure Beiravand is a much better overall option, but it woulda been nice if he got a half under his belt today..!! Beira is clearly the far superior distributor of the ball, even non-withstanding his amazing long throws..!!
in fact, alireza's frequent indecisions, Slowass distribution has hampered our counter attacking abilities to a great extent..!!Comment

Impressive performance by the team.
They were on the same page.
We SHOULD have won the game.
Azmoun in first half turned into a Japanese defender and cleared the ball off the line from Hajsafi's cross/shot.
We should have had the lead at end of the half. We ended up getting it by winning a dumb penalty given away by the Japanese. But we earned the lead.
Great game by Torabi and Amiri over all . Azmoun should have scored 2 goals.
Amiri hustled back to save a goal on a superb Japanese counter attack.
Ezatollahi at 18 years old played a game that should give us all a lot of happiness.
This is a young team but we played a solid game against one of the best teams we have faced since the World Cup.
Congrats to the team for a good performance.

This match in some sense proved to all the smelly disgusting backward thinking mollah worshipping retards, that Carlos is THE man to take us to Russia 2018.
It had been a long time since we played a friendly with a lot of quality. A great performance by both teams, an exciting match to watch. A great experience for all the younger players.Comment
