They all have their positives and negatives. Even Beiranvand.
What I'd say is keep Haghighi. No need to throw him out. But he's not playing at his club and by no logic should he expect to waltz back to TM and expect to start. Not him, nor any other player.
They all HAVE TO know they can be benched if they underperform. This is a coaching matter and CQ has to do this.

Happily CQ has shown to do this with recent benching of Shojaei and Ando. Very good moves by CQ as I support him on this.
He should do this with Haghighi too. If for nothing else, to inspire and push him to correct his flaws and also create an atmosphere of competition in the team.

Spirit of competition in a team is what drives any player to push himself to improve.

Beirqnvand also gets some int'l caps under his belt and may slowly correct his flaws too.

Haghighi just needs regular club PT right now. He is a good keeper, and his behavior is much more sound. Beiranvand may be more talented, but he was been poor this season and his relationship with mansoirian has deteriorated as a result of his cocky mindset.

Good list, thanks for putting that together.

I honestly think goalkeeper wise we are stuck in a rut. As Dr.Doom mentioned, they all have their positives and negatives. I think Haghighi is a decent keeper, but at his current status he is horrible at crosses. He definitely needs more playing time to get back to how he was during the WC and AFC. Furthermore, he needs to improve vastly for PKs since we all saw the Iran-Iraq PK shootout.

Sadly I don't think we are going to have another great PK catcher like Vahid Talebloo. The guy was a beast when it came to stopping PKs.

Not to be harsh towards Haghighi, but realistically he should sit on the bench next game. Beiranvand is the guy for me. But apparently he's benched for some reason. Unfortunately Carlos doesn't call up players who are benched, regardless of how good they are (in this case Beiranvand).

Should we give Mazaheri playing time in November?

I'd like to see another GK tested. I'm sure they won't have a difficult time against our opponents next month.

Edit: My mistake. Carlos does invite players who are benched. Haghighi. What I meant to say is players in IPL.

Sadly it appears that CQ is a creature of habit. If he insists on starting Haghighi, I don't understand why he isn't making Haghighi practice cross stoppage 24/7.

The best GK option in Iran is Rahmati if you're going by the best but he isn't an option as long as CQ is manager. I'm disappointed that Davari isn't part of TM anymore as much. Idk what happened but he could've and should've been our #1. I say slowly we need to begin the transition to Beiranvand. I was very disappointed CQ didn't allow him to start the Japan match and allow him to have that big game experience that he lacks. No purpose in putting Haghighi again. Plus him not having a club should limit his TM chances.

intoriam nist azizam. There are number of people that were asking for Beiranvand to have some chances while Haghighi is not even playing as fix goal keeper for his team. Take a look at those links provided to see he has only played 1 match and conceded 2 goals for his club this whole year after his return to Rubin Kazan.

His saving were very shaky against Iraq-Sweden, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, even against India, and finally his mistakes vs Oman and Japan. You should follow the matches more often and avoid just watching highlights.

Look at 90 analysis and you understand they are pointing at the same problem which is related to our LB not being able to cover the gap in front of the goal, our LW weak defensive skills and more important of all Haghighi reflection in most of all the goals we have received since AC 2015 in last January. 90 pointed so beautifully to this problem that Haghighi could not take it easy and responded to Ferdosipor asking to not include his mistakes in that TV program.

You can see that video here. (So there are more than one mistakes and we are not Haghighi's enemies). All we are asking is to use our second goal keeper more often so Haghighi can work on his mistakes. Overall we need TM best performance and not to protect any player from criticism.

This video is done even before Iran vs Japan match

Ok!!!! Now I know what's going on then! You're wrong! I do watch full TM games (not the highlights). What I don't watch is programs like 90! Media can have tremendous effects on people's minds!

I completely agree with the analysis of our defenders in the video! I also agree that we need to put pressure on players by having competition between them. That will make players like Haghighi better! But I think the mistakes they showed from Haghighi in many cases were too harsh! It's not for example his fault that he slipped down in front of our goal against Sweden. I'm afraid some of the comments came rather with emotions than with logic.

Having said that, I have to mention I don't have any bias for Haghighi! If he makes bad mistakes and is not ready, he should be put aside immediately! But I feel we're drawing fast conclusions right now! We need to be more patient!

You can have your opinion but never say up right some is wrong or right. Every one is entitled to his/her believes. There is no absolute right or wrong here in my opinion.

If you are talking about my second sentence to you, I meant you're wrong about me watching highlights. That's not an opinion. It's a fact!

FYI, the goal against Japan was a mistake. The goal conceded against Oman was also a GK error. He also conceded many goals from the left in similar fashion. People complained about Davari being a statue, but Haghighi seems to have a similar problem. I am on the same page as you that people overreact, but Haghighi has made his share of mistakes at this point. He is weak coming out of the box and freezes. The blame is shared with the defense (Hajsafi for leaving the spot open, thus making Haghighi look like a statue, because he'd have to have Manuel Neuer or David De Gea reflexes to stop those opportunities. Problem is, I can give Haghighi that benefit of the doubt, but many haters here, won't give the same reasonable analysis to Davari. Yes, NONE of our GK's have the reflexes of De Gea to cover defensive lapses by our outfield players. Haghighi should not be singled out, Davari should never have been singled out, but reactionary Iranians will be reactionary Iranians.

Next game, CQ will put in Biranvand. He'll have a couple of good matches. People will be tattooing his image on their chests, then he'll make one mistake, and "oh, I knew Biranvand's bad attitude would hurt his career. Next in line. Akhbari, he's the ticket! He's a king among men as GK's goes. He's sooooo good! Makes a couple of mistakes... MAZAHERI! He's our man! Basically we have a revolving door with no stability in that position, because a bunch of armchair Mourinho's and Guardiola's think they have any idea about rating our players. They sit at home and see these mistakes and don't see how biased they are. Our team does not have Messi, De Gea, Ronaldo, or anyone of the like at the moment. Our players will make mistakes. Heck, Sardar blew some chances against Japan by being apprehensive in front of goal and not having the killer instinct. BUT, he is still a quality player with class who is DEVELOPING. None of our players can develop or improve when we cast them aside every 5 matches. But, Iranians be reactionary, so yeah, bench Haghighi and let the GK dominos fall. They will all make a few mistakes, guaranteed. Every player who isn't trained from birth to be a keeper or has some extraordinary talent will make some mistakes.

FFS some of you guys have way way way 2much time on ur hand or just love drama. Its like every few weeks you start with who should be the TM goalie !!!

Give it a rest. You dont replace a goalie every other month. A goalie needs trust and the worse thing is if you make him second guess him self.

When another goalie gets so much better that you cant overlook him and he shows he is stable for a longer period we will have our new goalie.

In the meantime for the love of Football and TM give it a F..... Rest already.
