I can't remember the last time TM created so many chances. What held us back was our inexperience due to the generation change we are going through, as well as the Turkmenistan keeper, who probably will never perform as good as today again. We should have scored at least 4-5 more goals. 2 times we hit the post & Rezaei + Torabi missing the empty goal are just on top of my mind. I think we mainly missed a Azmoun or Gucci up front. The 3rd option looks to be Taremi, while likes of Rezaei, Ansarifard and Sharifi have to fight for the 4th spot.
Overall we performed well - decent moves, skills and passing game - considering this was a pretty experimental squad with some new fresh players. You can go and blindly bash the team, but once you get a feeling for our current situation, you will understand that the team is actually doing good and will only improve thanks to CQ having the guts to start a new TM era.
Some other points:
- Ezzatollahi's goal was damn fine. One splendid dribble and a clean finish at the right time after we conceded the equalizer. Watch how many players are surrounding him, something that we usually only experienced from Karimi in the past.
- JB again unlucky not to score. Hit the post like he did for Alkmaar, also a header was saved. Gucci also had a positive impact, earned a PK and another shot got saved.
- Haghighi's lack of praxis is hurting him a lot. It's not about quality; he is just out of form these days. Beiranvand is not playing either for Naft, so maybe Akhbari is the only option for now as Makani is not trustable either. The goal we conceded however can’t be fully blamed on Haghighi though, we simply defended poorly. But I don’t know if the goal was legitimate anyway! Watch the replay, that kick from Turkmenistan player was extremely dangerous, could have smashed Hajsafi's head!
- Hajsafi continues to be wasted as a LB. This is getting criminal; his true quality is being thrown easily away each damn match. We need to find a new LB, this is really going to hurt us in the future, just wait & see...I can't blame him whenever he makes his mistake, this is not his true postion.
- It was shameful to see Dejagah being given the captain armband, not because of his performance. This is the national team FFS, you have to earn it throughout the years! Hajsafi deserved it the most from the squad today, yes I would even give it to Jahanbakhsh then Dejagah for his classy attitude. Overall he was not a catastrophe and had couple of good scenes as well, but he is FAR away from the Dejagah we know and I seriously doubt he can improve as he obviously only cares about money these days, nobody can deny that. Time for JB to slowly fully replace him...
- CQ wearing a tie was just GOLD. Maybe the first TM coach ever doing something like that! Before the game he brought all his GK's to the press conference to boost their spirit and indirectly show he doesn’t need Rahmati lol.
You can hate him for his tactics, player selection or whatever...but this MAN is a master in playing mind games! Once you try to mess with him...good luck....
All that aside, there is something that worries me the most...someone please tell me where the hell is Torabi's neck?Formerly known as Persianking!

No real standout performers, Ezzatollahi showed immense promise again but this was far from a perfect game for him, was sloppy on a few occasions and clearly has a lot to learn but I'm looking forward to seeing him develop. Do hope PAG gets a run and hopefully a chance to cement a starting spot now. Rezaeian and Torabi (although lacking in end-produc today) continue to look lively and good options to have. Kaveh looked like a lost child though, we still only have two strikers on that showing.

Haghighi is a capable keeper but he is not showing a lot of confidence these days. It is mainly due to lack of playing time in his club and I also think there is a bit of negativity that is surrounding him these days too after his bluntter in Japan game and all the b.s. that has been going on with Rahmati getting media attention and all that bull. I am not too worried thou, as I am sure he will be back. Let's also not forget that Haghighi had a brand new defense line in front of him, that despite reasonable performance overall, was not all that together and at times played nervously.
HajSafi, was a total disappointment. I have never really been found of his style of play, so my comment may be bised, but he is way overrated. We are really missing Pooladi there.
Dejaghah was the engine of the team, but at times looked sloppy in making that last critical pass.
Kaveh is excellent for his club, but has yet to prove he is TM material. I don't see that hunger for goal in him.
Rezaeian also had a poor display today. His crossing was not on target. Not sure what happened to him.
Pouraliganji's hearders are superb! ... He did well in defense, but showed Jalal is still very much needed.
Torabi was a delight to watch. He did everything he wanted. He is imporving game by game.
Amiri was again kinda lost in the game.
Jahanbakhsh was pure class. You could see the European touch in this guy. He wanted to score so badly. Tried a few times and came close at least once. He is part of our future.
Pourghaz - nothing really too special. Average player at best in my opinion.
Ezzatollahi - this kid is the future. His goal was briliant and I am sure he is in a different level now in terms of confidence.
Ebrahimi - he did well, but looked out of synch with his defence line. His size and physique was to his disadvantage against strong Turkmens.
Gucci - I am glad he is back. This guy can make the difference and has proven that in tough times, he can be confident.
Kamyabinia - didn't really see him on the filed much. He was a nervours first time participant.
Overall -- CQ did well, in fielding a yunger squad. He had Guam in mind and the possibility of missing some major players.
score was fair and reflective of the difference between the two teams.

We had two teams that were not in sync. One side was eager and hungry to score, the other was timid and played it safe.
I don't mind Dejagah losing the ball on the attack. It's what happens. Not every attack is successful. Although he had more than his usual mistakes.
What hurt us the most on the attack was that Ashkan was not on the same level of intensity after the first 20min as Amiri, Rezaie, and Torabi. They weren't in sync and this could be due to not playing together.
Ebrahimi also hurt us with his lack of creativity. Massoud gets a lot of criticism on the forums for his style of play, but he has a few sparks each game. More importantly he tries to be creative and catch the other team off guard. Ebrahimi is the least creative midfielder I have seen. He is so easy to read and we all know where he is going to pass the ball. He reminds me of those ballboys that don't throw the ball to the players, they walk the ball over and hand it to them. That's how Ebrahimi passes. Thankfully we had Ezzatollahi to help us or the match would have been much worse.
Hajsafi proved again that he is an attacking player, not a defender.
Overall I thought we did well.
Haghighi: 2
Rezaeian: 6
Pouraliganji: 7
Pourghaz: 6
Hajsafi: 5
Ezzatollahi: 7
Ebrahimi: 4
Torabi: 5
Dejagah: 4
Amiri: 6
Kaveh: 5
Ghoochannejhad: 6
Jahanbakhsh: 6

Didn't get to see the game live, and already knew the score when I started watching But here are my ratings:
Haghighi - 4 (made a mistake again, unfortunate timing for him as he made one against Japan and he can't play against Guam)
Rezaeian - 6.5 (got forward well, but his crosses needed to be better directed today)
Pourghaz - 6 (he was fine, but he wasn't really tested)
Pouraliganji - 7.5 (excellent header, I have not seen a player jump and rise so well to headers for a really long time (since Daei), damesh garm)
Hajsafi - 5.5 (nice dribbles, good speed, not much defending, crosses weren't great, wasted shots. He is not a LB and I am tired of it, we need him further up and an actual defender.)
Ezzatollahi - 8 (well done! Excellent goal, he has great footwork, is tall and strong, a goal will surely give him more confidence, had nice passes too)
Ebrahimi - 7 (solid game by him, would like to see him shoot more with the cannon that he has! However he is not a playmaker, and is a bit small for DMF)
Amiri - 5.5 (a few good runs, nice speed, he was taken off early. His shot power seems pretty low and physically he is a bit weak).
Dejagah - 7.5 (goal and an assist, lots of work in midfield + dribbles. However, he is either too slow with his decision making for passes or rushes them. He is no where close to his former self)
Torabi - 7 (nice quick effective dribbles, great speed and stamina. I am really liking his playing style)
Rezaei - 6 (had good chances, created space well, but for the amount of time he was on he was a bit invisible)
SUBS:
Kamyabinia - N/A (didn't notice him)
Jahanbakhsh - 6.5 (good shots, has a bit of rustiness to him right now which is understandable, wanted to see him run more too)
Ghoochannejhad - 6.5 (drew a penalty, had a good shot, was working hard, he looks very hungry !)--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------
