I do miss the guy. One strange thing was that CQ was watching this match from the stands and then never used anyone from that team which is really odd as the same team beat Russia in front of his eyes but I guess he had other ideas for TM and wanted something better.

indeed, he simply was Not a good fit for CQ favored style of play at all..! Just about the only thing that kept him in the team was his early on likable attitude and the seemingly amicable relationship he seemed to be having with CQ from pictures of him and CQ joking about ..!!

when it came to WC squad Selection, CQ put aside any such personality attractions and Ruthlessly took along Solely those players that best favored his desired WC playing tactics, which was obviously Highly Defensive tactics, intense pressing and counter attacking..!!
AK8 and Azmoun also became victims of his exclusions..! but KB was the only one who bitched and whine about supposedly getting snubbed by CQ in the media..!! and that pretty much sealed his fate in CQ's TM forever..!!

After 5 years every Iranian players knows they cannot rant about TM selection if they ever want to be considered. Azmon was pretty smart to not say anything during the WC.

I have to credit CQ for breaking this KHALEH-ZANAK BAZI in our football. I hope the rest of the society can learn too.

Edited: Having said that I loved watching KB in TM. But Torabi is doing a pretty good job now.

he just had bad luck with jahanbakhsh , dejagah , hajsafi , shojaei wich all could play on the same position as him.. and dont forget khalatbari was already 30-31 years old.. but with amiri we've already the new khalatbari,

Exactly, the reason we couldn't win over Bosnia was because CQ didn't take KB and Azmoun with him. He was only not chosen because of his small physic which is against CQ's standards.

He was a very good player who was crucial to Iran's WC qualification. I hope the true reasons as to why he was omitted from the final WC selection surface (remember he was invited to the preliminary squad). He should be remembered in a positive light.

The biggest reason Iran lost that game was because the team was exhausted after the Argentina game. This is according to the players themselves. If they had gotten the 0-0, the psychological boost would've countered a lot of the exhaustion, you see that a lot with clubs who are on good runs but tight schedules.

The same thing happened with Iran vs Angola in 06, the team morale was low by the time they played.

CQ insisted too much on selective extra defenses + defensive MFs so he short listed many potential FW and offensive MFs. He even took injured defense Beik Zadeh and dropped both Sardar and Khalatbari. His flaws showed in match vs Bosnia because he had to attack to win and his best weapon aka our defense was left open while we didn't have enough offensive minded players in the team or replacement for those who got exhausted in previous match. If we had KB or Azmoun we could simply use them in last match without being tired. That is the point.
