If I recall correctly, Khal was dropped after the 1st camp where the GPS system was introduced - S. Africa if I'm not mistaken. Remember CQ was trying to increase the average distance travelled by each TM player from 7 km/match at that time to 11+ km/match for the World Cup?

Well, because of that I always got the impression that Khal seriously fell short in that department and didn't have the required fitness levels. And then he sort of questioned CQ's decision after that and I guess that was that.

I always loved the guy though - definitely one of my all time favorite TM players. But with so many up and coming talents, we should just have regular goodbye parties for our 30+ crew anyway as far as I'm concerned.

If we had KB or Azmoun we could simply use them in last match without being tired. That is the point.

khalatbari is and were to old for tm and have poor physical condition. but what I think is a shame for wasting his talent is Arash Afshin. look at him in this clip.. awsome.. big, technically good, good driving with the ball, good in the air, young, strong. what happened to him ?

I have to credit CQ for breaking this KHALEH-ZANAK BAZI in our football. I hope the rest of the society can learn too.

Having said that I loved watching KB in TM. But Ghafouri is doing a pretty good job now.

i still believe he was one of our best players of ALL TIME !

no joke...this guy was a beast and i'm upset that CQ left him out. We could've used him, probably the only classy player of this post daei/mahdavikia generation. very sad ending to his career...he could've played in Europe. I could've seen him shine in an offensive team like Dortmund.

when it came to WC squad Selection, CQ put aside any such personality attractions and Ruthlessly took along Solely those players that best favored his desired WC playing tactics, which was obviously Highly Defensive tactics, intense pressing and counter attacking..!!
AK8 and Azmoun also became victims of his exclusions..! but KB was the only one who bitched and whine about supposedly getting snubbed by CQ in the media..!! and that pretty much sealed his fate in CQ's TM forever..!!
Thats why he took ansarifard instead of Khalatbari? the guy who didn't do shit? I truly belive if khalatbari was atleast on the bench we couldve gone to the next round hes a game changer. He did so well for us and he gets dropped out of nowhere.

Aghaye mourinho khalatbari is not a forward like ansarifard. He is a left midfielder

Arash Afshin is a potentially good forward but he can not control himself when the team is under psychological pressure. He gets into fight very fast somehow similar to Sadeghian. This is his biggest flaw specially when we are playing against Arab teams who resort to anti football.

No he was actually dropped after the final camp and after the world cup when CQ came back to Iran he said there was 1 player that he had a really difficult time to cross his name from the final list and when Adel asked him who he was he said it was Khalatbari.

I also remember they did a mini interview with all the players including khalatbari and I remember the reported told Khalatbari before the final list was released "You are definetly going to be one of the players in the list but how do you feel right now about the upcoming list and world cup".

Ghafouri is a RB & KB usually played as a left winger or AM.

Some of you seem to have missed CQ's interview after WC where he explained a lot of issues, including this one:
                                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idip48bEZqU

First of all it had nothing to do with Khalatbari's physics or him not fitting to CQ tactics, else he wouldn’t have been invited so often prior to the WC to begin with. CQ said that one of the most difficult decisions in his coaching life was the exclusion of Khalatbari and he brought up physical fitness as the reason. Khalatbari missed almost half of the season prior joining Perspolis, spend some matches on the bench and couldn’t fully reach his top form until the end of the season. This is why CQ decided to cut him off in the last minute as he believed other players are much more prepared.

Khalatbari complained, but apologized later on, however there was no room for him anymore. I also missed him at the WC, but not anymore. He is aging and it's showing in the league already, while TM is starting a new era. Too bad he was discovered so late and ended up as another wasted talent....just like the likes of Arash Afshin.

It's a wishful thinking to claim lack of players were the only reason why we didn’t went to the next round. I expect such a comment from a guy like MK who said with Rahmati and Aghili we would have managed it lol. Azmoun was not ready for the WC; he wasn’t the player he is now. The pressure would have been too much on him, even in the Asian Cup he couldn’t play a full match and two times got injured in the 2nd half instead.

Time to get over some issues and please don't spread misinformation. Hindsight is easier than foresight....
