Mazloomi is nervous losing IPL title one more time! He even cancel this match to focus on IPL championship. This might be right if there were other match like ACL but not just for having 3 players in NT camp and two injured players. At least he should send a young team to have some experience.

The article just says that Esteghlal is traveling to Sweden but will come back earlier than previously expected. I guess they decided to shorten their trip probably because of financial reasons.

So typical of our football culture, ZERO INTEGRITY. They signed a contract and promised to go to Sweden to play a game and then at the last second, they said no, we don't feel like going. That simply means they didn't even plan for it. Only after the Swedish federation were about to launch a formal complaint, they said "Oh s**t, we have a signed contract and better go. So sad!!!!!!

So typical of Steghlal reaction. I can not recall any Iranian team canceling their international match in short notice like Mr. Mazloomi did. Behtare alaki jam nabandim. If SS make a fool out of itself, it should not be counted as all Iranian clubs.

You must be seeing something I am not. When I say "zero integrity in our football", I mean at all levels, from player salaries to cancellation of games or camps and everything in between. You make it sound like our football is perfect and this is an isolated case. Peleeeeeeeeease!

I never said our football has no problem. Simply read what I said. Goftam jam nabandim age ye bashgah ye kar eshtebah mikone. There is a bottom low to everything and not all clubs go that far.

This is only one example of "bad modiriat" which has hurt the image of iranian football in the recent years. The only reason Esteghlal is traveling to Stockholm to play Hammarby is because there is a contract and they know if they try to violate the deal FIFA will fine them. Just look at Kafashian and co. we are ranked top 50 in the world and they cant even find a decent kit supplier to sponsor us

I dont understand why Esteghlal signed the contract???? they can barely scrape together 11 players to play a IPL game and now 3 of their best players are with TM, another 2-3 are injured. And what if the foreign players in Esteghlal leave for vacation.
Esteghlal with all of their top players would probably win against Hammarby without any difficulties. But now they have to field their u-23 team and this will result in fiasco

Which fiasco?? it is a friendly, even a 5/0 loss with their u23 is a huge experience for their young players.

I have no doubt that Esteghlal is a better team than Hammarby, coming from someone who knows both leagues. But it doesn't matter, it's a damn club friendly! Manchester United come here and draw against Swedish clubs, because no one gives a fvck about results in friendlies, no one cares about national team friendlies, let alone club friendlies, who play real league/cup games once a week.

This is what Esteghlal's lineup with the missing players would look like

                              Rahmati
                              Fakhreddini-Hajmohammadi-Omranzadeh-Majidi
                              Khorsandnia
                              Heydari-Chihi-Ansari
                              Borhani-Pejic

It's still a decent lineup IMO. If they are lucky Shahbazzadeh and Mohsen Karimi will return from TM, because they will most probably get crossed off the final list.

Apparently, officials from several clubs such as AZ Alkmaar, Malmo and Gothenburg will be there to watch the game
