I have no doubt that Esteghlal is a better team than Hammarby, coming from someone who knows both leagues. But it doesn't matter, it's a damn club friendly! Manchester United come here and draw against Swedish clubs, because no one gives a fvck about results in friendlies, no one cares about national team friendlies, let alone club friendlies, who play real league/cup games once a week.

TM missed several big names for that game and was about to face a great in form Mexico A team and at one point I think there were rumors of cancelling the match and then everyone was like "Meh...it's just a damn friendly, who gives a fck about a friendly match, just go and play, no-one gives a crap about the result" blah blah.

Then we lost 4-0 and everyone acted as if the world had come to an end and even up to now people use that friendly for certain agenda's and as example for some other shit.

Esteghlal should go and play no matter what! They have signed a contract and should commit to it! But if we send a B-team and get trashed by 5 goals for example, the same people who are now saying "results don't matter in friendlies" will be the first ones to trash talk Esteghlal and its coaching staff saying how they were an embarrassment to all Iranians
