So where were you when this happened 18 years ago?

I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

I was in Boston visiting a relative. Once there they told my relative's friend that there is a restaurant that shows Iran's games and if I wanted we could go there to watch this one. So we got up at around 3:00am and went there and it was packed with Iranians (and one Australian guy). The owner kept trying to get the game on his TV but the signal wasn't working. In the meantime someone got on the computer and found a site that reported the game every minute or so. So he kept reading us what was going on and just about every line was an Australian attack. Finally Australia scored. The owner was still trying to get us a signal but was unsuccessful. The second half started pretty much the same as the first and when Australia scored the second goal (that again we only were able to read about) everyone pretty much got up to leave as we figured it was over. I came back and went straight to sleep but in the morning my relative started waking me up to tell me that Iran had qualified. I shrugged if off thinking it was just a prank to wake me up. It wasn't until lunch that day when we ordered chelo kabab from Moby Dick that a grabbed the phone from my relative after the order was placed and asked the owner if the 2-2 tie was true and they confirmed it was.

Was doing some kindergarten homework while my mom was slapping my hand with ruler every time I got distracted.
My dad and uncle in the other room shouting and screaming like maniacs.
At that time I had no passion for soccer so I had no idea what was going on. Few years ago I asked my dad about that moment from my memory and he told me it was either aussie game or the usa.
One of the few memories I have from my time in Iran. Maybe that is why I love TM now lol.
        EAT. SLEEP. TM. REPEAT.

I was at my grandparents house in jordan, i dont remember the game it self, but afterwards my mom came and picked me up and had to park the car 10 minutes away from the house because the traffic was so bad when people hit the streets. I remember we walked north on jordan towards zafar and apparently one of the buildings there was some sort of university dormitory where the students emptied the feathers of their pillows onto the streets like confetti as we were walking.

I remember recreating azizi's goal in my room with a sock ball for days and making fun of bosnic just lying on the floor not able to do anything

I watched the game with my family and we were going to a Dutch wedding after the game. My cousin, brother and I were so happy that we were wrote down something about the game in the congratulatory book of the couple. It was something in the lines of "Iran Australia 2-2" and "Yes, Iran to the World Cup!!".

I believe I was home at the time, watched it on TV with my parents and my older brother. I was 10 at that time. At least I think that was where I was, I may be confusing it with a different game

Went to school in the morning.
Came home the game was around 2 or 3 pm I think.
Watched it with my father and grandma.
Went crazy after the 2nd goal.
Our city became a stand still after the match.

I was in 3rd grade, our classes ended early so we go home but a group of us and the teacher stayed in the dining room of the school to watch the game on the tiniest tv, when the final whistle blew, i jumped and landed really badly onto the sensitive area and started crying, the teacher and the principal wouldn't stop bragging about how emotional I got after the win for days after then the guy who used to drive me to school picked me up and i told him lets not go home, we celebrated on the street till 11:30 pm (way past my bedtime) and since mobile phones were a luxury, my parents were dead worried not knowing where I was. I got a nice big fat slap from my dad who was waiting at the door when I got back, was definitely the sweetest slap of my life! the next day I reminded my dad of the bet we made that if we qualify he would take me to France, a few months later, we were there watching TM live against USA (after missing the Yugoslavia match), best day of my life.

The most packed Iranian restaurant I have seen in my life. People were sitting on tables and climbing walls at 3am, all of the Iranians in Toronto were there. Even a guy who used to bully me at school was sitting beside me and gave me a big hug and we became friends after that.

Did you spend the rest of the night dancing with him with your arms on each others' shoulders thus creating a sexual sphere?
