He scored his penalty against Iraq.

I hope our remaining teams will do well otherwise we might lose ACL spots just like Uzbekistan
Zob Ahan is our only hope! Shades of 2010 ACL all over again!
Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan

Oh man I well remember that edition of ACL, total depression its terrible memories.

I honestly doubt any of our clubs stand much of a chance, in the knockout stages, should they even advance from their groups. I truly hope I am dead wrong!

I wonder when taking this penalty shot, if he whispered to himself "Morteza pesare khoob, to mitooni ino goal bekoni..."

Those who watched his interview on Navad, know what I am referring to!

I think Sepahan has a good chance too.

They have been extremely inconsistent thus far this season. I am not too impressed with them TBH. Their only great display was last week against Perspolis (Our damn luck )

Why did Nekounam leave Sepahan? Didn't he have a one year contract with them? Why do so many Iranian players leave their teams before the full length of their contract is up?

                        Nekounam was never with Sepahan.

It probably was in his plans to leave to Qatar, he needs to cash in at this point so that's what he's doing.
And it's not exclusive to Iranian players, clubs want to get profit as much as possible from their players so they sell them before their full contract is up and the players become free agents, because then they get no money from them.

It's the same system everywhere in the world it's just that in Iran you have a lot of 1 year contracts so players leave after 6 months if the offer is attractive enough to the club
