I believe the best term to sum up our nation in general is to refer to them as Iranians. It will keep us united and as one nation!
While I agree with the first sentence, I respectfully disagree with the rest Keano jaan.

The correct answer to what's your ethnicity would be Persian/Azari/Kord etc. and no one should be insulted by that.

The correct answer to what's your nationality would be Iranian or any other country you're currently a national of.

But the questions posed most regularly is "what is your background?" People can answer this question as they wish, whether they say they're Iranian or Azari or Persian or a combination of multiple ethnicities, it should neither be an insult nor a cause of division among us - it simply is what it is.

Being united IMHO does not mean we have to discourage people from identifying with their origins (whatever that may be), rather being able to come together while recognizing our diversity.

Thank you for the well-put reply Bi-Honar jaan, you've always been a great and classy member.

I honestly believe everyone is entitled to identify themselves as whatever ethnicity they wish or they believe they belong to. However trying to inflict their own notion of others' ethnicity on their countrymen may be a little pushing the envelope which can aggravate the minorities.

Nonetheless we're all Iranians and should respect one another regardless of the ethnicity indifference sand backgrounds

I do not understand many members here. They say the issue is private but they talk about it.

I say the issue is private and I won't talk about it.

It is fake. He wasn't arrested in the streets, he turned himself in.

Chakeram Keano jaan and the feeling's definitely mutual.

For sure that should be a no-no and this act is what turns diversity into adversity - not just among Iranians but among nations. As Jack Nicholson would say we should all just learn to get along!

                    Anything new on his situation?

Let's hope he isn't completely forgotten and left alone to fend for himself.

I am not sure why this guy is in jail, is it because he took pictures with a girl (his fiance) without hijab?

                            Definitely photoshopped

It's unbelievable how this regime taunts its citizens over such basic rights any citizen across the world freely practices and enjoys. This backward IR is one big cancer on the planet that needs to be wiped out and completely degenerated or else they will multiply.

Try explaining this incident with your foreign friends and see the reaction on their faces, it's then that you truly realize how screwed up our country and governing system is!

I seriously feel horrible for the guy. This is beyond ridiculous!
