I've been trying to find a source for this. Some Egyptian newspaper ran with it but I have yet to see anything on afc's official website. The last news bit is the "we're monitoring the situation" article.

That being said, I would really be surprised if it didn't get moved considering who is in power in the AFC.

Or maybe considering that the Saudi claim is actually legitimate this time. Why can't we accept that this is a legitimate concern and move on? Imagine the Iranian embassy getting attacked with Molotov cocktails as Saudi police were standing by, watching. With diplomatic, trade and all other relations cut completely and tensions at an all time high, it's logical that they feel threatened. We would too if we were in their situation. We are the ones that fire bombed their embassy and scaled their walls.

Which is why we shouldn't be scaling embassy walls, so that we're not put into such situations. Yes, AFC is a corrupt Arab led organization. But we never help ourselves. When Esteghlal sends documents after the deadline and gets disqualified, it's our fault. When Sepahan fields a player that it wasn't supposed to and gets disqualified, it's our fault. When Iran creates a situation out of nothing, to the point that opposing team's players feel threatened being in the country, it's our fault.

You think Iran is Germany for other countries??? Our stadiums/lockers are absolute garbage. Developing countries have better stadiums and lockers. Our airports have systems from the 70's. Our fans are loud and obnoxious and at times more like hooligans. Iranian fans routinely camp outside opposing team's hotels and make noise so they can't sleep. They routinely throw "grenades" on the pitch and against each other (one against North Korea in early 2000's, one that resulted in a fa becoming blind in a Perspolis-Sepahan match and another one that was thrown on the pitch very recently and was shown all over the news). Our pitches are horrible and every time Koreans come to Iran we give them a sub-par training field (Azadi is the only acceptable pitch in the country). There are very few redeeming qualities about us. We just act like we're god's gift to the whole species.

Scaling embassy walls and damaging the embassy is an act of war. The embassy is treated as sovereign soil of that nation. This is an act of war. To this day there are Americans that firmly believe Carter should've leveled Tehran after their embassy got taken over.

AFC is corrupt, they will side with the KSA federation. Only thing now is to beat their teams on the neutral ground and move forward.

I think it's better that they don't play in Iran, just to avoid further embarrassment because most likely the hezbollahi fans will rush the field or do something worse.

It has nothing to do with football and politics being related or not. It's a matter of a group of Saudi citizens being forced to travel to a country that they're clearly not welcome in. If I were a Saudi player, I would be worried about my safety from minute 1 of landing in Iran. Iran and North Korea don't abide by normal international norms of conduct and behavior. When North Koreans attacked our players a few years back, our players were scared for their lives (as they mentioned after and as we saw in the videos of the incident). Saudis have every reason to fear far worse than this.

Authorities are on high alert? The same "authorities" that stood there watching the basiji thugs climb their embassy walls? They were literally right there and they did nothing.

They will lose all matches if it's played abroad. Maybe not all, but most of them.

There are many Iranian fans in gutter too. Maybe that's why they want us kicked out of the tournament lol. They're scared of our fans cheering loudly? I don't know. Either way, I'm excited to watch these matches. There's so much more spice on them now.
