Because it won't do anything. I've contact multiple congressmen/congresswomen regarding this bill. I personally sent out multiple e-mails asking reconsideration from them, it didn't mean anything. All the responses I got were typical "safety blah blah blah". This is what happens when people who are running the government have no clue about Iranians or never have even interacted with one. It also doesn't help that every other year people back home are climbing embassy walls and causing bad reputation regarding Iran. Anywho, petition or not, it already has gotten voted (400+ yes and 17 no) so it won't be going away anytime soon.
