But who would you rather face? KSA or Japan?
No matter now, Japan finish 1st for sure.

At this point, I'd gladly take any of the 3 other teams in Group B - they all SUCKED BIG TIME.

So hope we finish 1st in the group.

It will be joyful to see Qatar and Saudis eliminated while their victims iraq and Syria qualify for the next round.

North Korea got a bit lucky there against SA.
But I hope they beat Thailand to end up with 4 points.
If Saudi Arabia fails to defeat Japan, they are out. North Korea will face the #1 in our group (most likely Qatar, but Iran and Syria are also possible)

Here is my prediction for Iran's path to the olympics:

          Quarter final: Japan

          Semi final: South Korea

If lose: face Iraq for 3rd place spot & olympics.

If win: face Qatar for 1st place (but already qualified for olympics).

Did anyone see Iraq's 3rd goal? The Ben Williams incident had nothin' on this!!!

It was so obviously offside that the Uzbek defender pretty much stopped and Iraq went ahead to put it in the net!!!

We support Khakpour if he wins and does not make mistakes. Don't get me wrong. When you make a clear mistake and lose you need to be criticized for a day or two. then life continues but the coach will be awake. I never forget seeing khakpour on TV when he only watched the trajectory of the ball going into the goal.
Anyway even CQ has made mistake but he does not repeat the mistakes. By the way I watched the Argentina Iran match several times and noticed 3 things 1. stupid unfair referee, 2. Ando leaving the field because Argie boys stepped on his toe and hurt him and it was after that that TM conceded a goal. 3. CQ sent in not a fresh defender but someone to be more offensive just because as all of us he started to believe we could win. Anyway that referee was not going to allow a victory by TM.

I did not see but I believe what you have seen is true.
Many Asian linemen do not understand offside well and also they have poor eye sight. That is why in Asia you can become a billionaire if you are an optometrist.

Here's the Iraq - Uzbekistan highlights guys. Watch from minute 4:15 for what I consider a 100% can not be any more clear offside goal.

I know in the replay you can see that ball was originally deflected by the Uzbek player (that was not clear during the action) but regardless, he offside rules are "played or touched" by one of your teammates - deflections being irrelevant - aren't they?!

i'm not a ref but a coach but to me thats NOT an offside. the uxbek player kicks the ball its not a deflection from a iraqi pass that was going in that direction

Me neither bro, but isn't the intention of the play important here in deciding what's a deflection/rebound (i.e. is he intentionally making a back pass or did the ball just come off of his foot)? I mean the guy's looking in the other direction when he sticks his foot in.

We obviously have the advantage of replay which the officiating team would not have had during the match, but unless I was 100% sure that was actually meant as a back-pass (gone wrong), no way I wouldn't call the offside and let such a cheesy vulture goal decide the result of such an important match and the fate of a team in a tournament.

BTW, who was it that was saying a couple of days ago Uzbekistan always get robbed by the refs. I think they will be feeling very short-changed if not robbed by that goal.

Martin said it and yes he was right. the most wrong ref call in history of fifa world cup qualifier went against them. instead of retaking the penalty kick ref gave a freekick to bahrain if i remeber correct. game was replied but its like taking away one goal and say ok lets replay.

Iran will not make it past the next round. Guaranteed!!!! Dumb coaching will not get you far

Man.. Iran just needs to get a win from China. 1 - 0 is enough.

If they can't do that then....

                                Just khak bar sareshon.
