damn, that stupid loss vs gutter looms even larger now, having to face a unbeaten, red hot, confident japanies team instead of hapless NK in QFinals..!!
we have the quality and talent to matchup japanies but i fear too many semi-wholesale changes to our playing squad in the last 3 games by Kpoor will surely undermine Omid's team harmony and chemistry which is the hallmark strength of typical japanese teams.
i predict a heartbreaking narrow loss for Omid in QF..!!? I suppose much will depend on Kpoor Picking the Best/Right mix of players in this game...!! him making so many changes and experimenting with players positions in the last 3 games, suggests he still doesnt know his best 11 and formation...!!??
Kpoor's adapted Tactics and player Selection could well be the deciding factor in this game, Lets hope he gets it right for all of our sakes and his own coaching career..!!

Looking at the rule book, it looks like they had to use the Fair Play criteria for the ranking. N. Korea has 7 yellow cards, KSA has 9, team with the lowest points goes through.

i know TM at all levels have always played their best when deemed underdogs..!& Japan historically havent faired all too well vs Iran either..!!
I too woulda preferred facing Japan instead of Saudi Arabia, just to avoid the likely scenario of too much emotions likely hampering Omid's performance vs them, but no way any sane iranian would rather face Japan over NK in KO round ..!!?
we fked up big loosing a winnable game vs Gutteries..!! Now we have to hope Kpoor gets his Tactics and Team selection Spot On vs Japanese, because the margin for errors is cut very Narrow when facing a formidable and quality opponent in a tense Do or Die game..!!

Base on AFC regulation NK advance because of fewer numbers of color cards.
what that (* The standings are based on points, head-to-head, goal-difference and number of goals of the teams tied) is saying:
everything equal , NK scored more against Thailand)!!.
What is not confusing : Saudi Arabia is out in all counts.
