KC McElroy;2350336]And so the dynasty for Member of the Year continues:
2005: Arashi_Washi
2006: Mojo23
2007: Agha Kasra
2008: Mr.Click
2009: Persianking
2010: KC McElroy
2011: Asghar Agha
2012: Keano
2013: KeonKish
2014: Ali.Karimi79
2015: St_Mark
It's not clear whether any Member of the Year competitions were held prior to 2005, however, records indicate that official records have been kept since the 2005 edition. The novelty of the first edition was quite clear in the results of the poll with Arashi_Washi gaining top spot. While there were some initial doubts about his credentials in light of his constant balghooring about anything and everything soccer related with no source to back it up, it would take years for PFDC members to realize the shaky foundation they had laid for the Member of the Year awards. The first signs of trouble came from another PFDC member’s rearranged nuts courtesy of an Arashi_Washi kick as he boarded a plane to sign a contract with AC Milan. More erratic behavior was to follow with Arashi_Washi going through various bizarre stages of spiking his hair with gel and posting half naked pictures of himself and having imaginary interviews with Vahid Ghilich. Ultimately Arashi_Washi was permanently banned from PFDC and the 2005 Member of the Year edition and in particular its winner became a topic most PFDC members chose to erase from their memories.
For the 2006 edition once again soccer topics played a major role in determining the eligible candidates and the ultimate winner with Mojo23 taking top honors. This pattern followed the next year with Agha Kasra emerging as Member of the Year although one cannot overlook his sweeping cane of banning that may have influenced the results.
For 2008 the results took somewhat of a different direction with Mr. Click taking top honors courtesy of his productive discussions mainly in the general forum in addition to his Click Power Reps after each PFDC bazaar transaction, and much accumulated gold and inventory which may or may not have slightly decreased just prior to the final poll. For the 2009 addition once again Iranian football provided the decisive factor as Persianking won on the strength of the outstanding videos he has produced again and again highlighting various matches of Iran and Iranian league teams.
Of course for 2010 I took top spot which as an act impossible to top essentially retired the trophy. For most members it wasn't a question of why I won this prestigious award but rather why it took me so long. By doing so I became the first, and to date only, PFDC member to have not only won the Member of the Year award but also to have gone to Sharif University.
However it was for this reason alone that I reminded myself that with great power comes great responsibility. While there hadn’t even been Member of the Month polls throughout 2011, I took it upon myself to resurrect this competition with Sharif University caliber precision. While there has been no transfer of my fluids to any of the 20 initial candidates, however, any one of them would be suitable to carry on my lineage as Member of the Year. Following the conclusion of the first poll while at first I declared myself the winner for 2011 and announced that the subsequent poll was for 2nd place, however, I decided to vacate that position and let the two top candidates vie for it. We had two very good members going head to head for the top spot and either one would have been a deserving Member of the Year with Asghar Agha ultimately winning the award.
In 2012 after going agonizing close in both 2011 (losing out to Asghar Agha) and 2010's MOY poll (losing out to me), forcing both of them into a secondary poll before finishing in 2nd place, Keano finally won Member of the Year. With Keano being categorized as one of PFDC’s politest and most rational members when debating, I cannot even recall the last time he lost their cool about a topic (actually I can but that will remain between him, Masoud_A and I and a select few others ). Many of the threads about Iran and its current and future scenarios generate so much interest simply because of the insight that he adds to these threads (and not to mention to find out who the new girl will be in Keano’s signature).
In 2013 we had one of our youngest Member of the Year winners with KeonKish taking the top prize. His enthusiasm in both soccer related topics and the discussions he contributed to in the General Forum greatly pushed him ahead of the pack. In spite of his young age, KeonKish always engaged productively in discussions and at all times managed to keep a cool head doing so in spite of the efforts of a select few.
In 2014 Ali.Karimi79 took out all of his competition to win the award. While active in all PFDC Forums, with his discussions he provided a much needed jump start to the general forum which had been stagnating for some time. Whether or not you agree with his opinions, you can be assured of him participating passionately in a discussion with (or against) you.
With Member of the Month polls once again not being conducted (other than the first two months of the year) I once again had to use my superior knowledge of board members to create candidates for this year's award. I cannot recall a time when someone won the Member of the Year poll with such lopsided results. Anyone who ever has taken a peak at PFDC's Football Forum is sure to have seen St_Mark's multiple threads and contributions. He provides a ton of information regarding our teams at all age levels and without it many of our lesser known players would remain as such. He is truly worthy of this year's Member of the Year award. Congratulations!

Looking at the past winners I can’t help but think how many outstanding members we have that have yet to win this award, too many for me to even name as I’m sure if I even tried I would probably inadvertently leave some members out. So just remember, when it comes to Member of the Year, in my book most of you will always be sharing second place with each other, behind me. Also I went to Sharif University.
Mods please sticky this.
