This reminds me of that one Syrian player who played for Mes Kerman back in 2011-12. Once he played for Syria in an official match (2014 WCQ'ers), Syria was eliminated. I don't remember what his other nationality was. Maybe German or Swedish, not sure.
Anyways, I too wish Omid all the best. He is a good player. I always believed that he had another shot at returing to Team Melli, but getting injured and then not playing consistently really hurt his chances even more to be followed by our staff. He was also absent from league football. I do wish him the best of luck and I think he can help The Philippines.

"Fil-Iranian midfield ace Omid Nazari willing to play for Azkals if given chance
OMID Nazari wasted little time in showing his quality in Global FC’s 7-0 demolition of Pasargad in its United Football League Cup opener on Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
And the Filipino-Iranian Sweden-born standout is also quick to embrace the Azkals responsibility if ever he gets a call-up from national coach Thomas Dooley.
One thing that’s preventing Nazari is that he has already represented Iran in the senior level.
Even so, the 24-year-old Swedish League veteran is still eligible to switch allegiance since the matches he played in were not Fifa sanctioned.
“I’m willing to think about (making the switch),” Nazari said after the match against Pasargad. “Everyone wants to play big international games, so we’ll see.”
The 6-foot attacking midfielder immediately made an impact, assisting on Hikaru Minegish’s goal 15 minutes in before getting on the score sheet himself with a mid-range conversion off Misagh Bahadoran in the 39th minute.
He ended up with a hat-trick in his debut.
“Omid gives us a little extra dimension in that role we’ve asked him to play, so now it’s a case of making sure he can do that for ninety minutes,” Global coach Leigh Manson said.
“There’s no question his understanding and knowledge of the game is very high and his attitude in training and what we can show some of the younger boys,” he added.
The national team has seen an influx of new talent last year, but it definitely won’t hurt to have Nazari on board as well.
But for now, his focus is on Global.
“It’s a challenge for me. I have to adapt,” Nazari said. “But it’s a good start for me, so I feel confident now. I’ll keep training hard and do my best.”

Wish him all the best, if he is eligible he should make the move. He probably won't be invited to TM anymore, but on the other hand I am sure he can be a starter in the Filipino national team.--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------

One thing about Omids game I liked was the outside shot. We clearly lack in that department as our current National Pool doesn't have a midfielder who can turn position into immediate goal threat with a shot. At 24 have the windows been shut on his Tm days?? We still lack at that AM position if he can prove worthy at his new post, maybe a call up is still possible for him."History is a set of lies that people have agreed upon,"
