What matters is two indicators.
1 - the number of mistakes made
2 - the efficiency of movement, passes and goals
Iranian football while full of talent has real issues when it comes to the 2 topics I just mentioned. That's why CQ trains physically fit, "Boring", defensive teams; because he wants his teams to get results. His job is not to change all of Iranian football.
I don't even blame this on Khakpour or MK. It is the fault of every club in Iran which doesn't even give 5% of its budget to its youth teams.

Asian cup 2011: loss against South Korea in the quarterfinal
Asian cup 2015: we lost against Iraq in the quaterfinal (extratime+penalty)
U23 Asian Championship: we lost against Japan in the quarterfinal.
unfortunately, this is the level of our football (quarterfinal level). We lose important games (when it matters most). I think we should hire someone like Conor mcgregor and let him do the trash talk before the game so we can beat our opponents.

This sarbazi is definitely our 1° problem , no doubt about it. It makes our clubs think twice before investing in youth program and we're getting screwed because of that
The sad thing is more clubs are finally using younger players but only because "sazmane league" mandated that clubs have to start using youth players.

If Motahari had not wasted all those chances n regular time, we'd ben cheering right now.
He's just too wasteful. Maybe if he focused on his finishing as much as his crappy hairstyle, we would have seen a different scoreline.
We must hire psychologists for our players of all ages and ALL TEAMS. Our players of all ages get too emotional and lose focus easily. That's what happened after Japan's first goal. Our lads just lost all their shape and focus, allowing Japan to seal the game immediately.
This game is the game of missed chances. And we just didn't capitalize on our possession and more importantly on at least 4 brilliant scoring chances!
But they are young and I hope they maintain this form and become a stronger future TM.
After all we pushed Asia's too team to the brink of elimination. That's something to take home and build on.

First game I have watched from the U23 in years. and my opinion is :
as a x pro soccer player my self playing in Sweden I think,
- The coaches did better than I though they would do.
- We had no attacking method as we did not know what to do when we received the ball in the middle and the third half
- Defense was total shit (especially our full backs)
- It was a close match to be honest but mentally you can tell that Japan was superior which 95% of the time thats what makes the difference (look at licter city)
- Many many bad passes where it could have been 1 to 10 miters aside but our players decided to kick the ball long to switch the play
- Where I think we feel apart was the confident of our coach (Khakpour)
- We did good at some points but a team should not fall apart like we did after the first goal.
Over all rating for the tournament was 6/10
Reasoning behind it was the individual talent of our players.
We have such tallented players compared to asian teams and even European teams but the difference is that they start playing in a system at age of 11 working on tactical abilities where even some of our national players right now are behind tactically.

Actually I had posted the list of the japanese who players in their 3rd match. Almost all were their reserves except for 2. So Team Omid did not have extra day of rest but the japanese has 2 extra days. Omid ran out of breath by the 6th minute. The three subs should have been made and between 60 and 70 minute. We cannot blame the players, because they were tired while the japanese had fresh legs.
If we want to judge the Omid players we just have to watch the first half.
If KP had used the best players and had defeated Qatar then the reserve would have been used in China match.
Anyway KP did not know how to deal with this puzzle. We are better than the Japanese.
In the game Qatar is playing against NK they have an arab lineman who called a goal offside. Maybe NK can start a petition for not having arab referee in Arab related games. maybe S korea will lose for the same kind of injustice and they will join the petition.
one more thing FIFA should ban all loudspeakers with nonsense noise especially in Qatar. no one should attend a game in Qatar just to get his ears damaged.
Motahari did the same thing as the guy in TM did being offside. in one situation actually he was not but the stupid referee made a bad call.
go and see the ball possession, in first half near the end it was 62-38 and it changed slowly as the players got tired and i saw 52-48 at one time.
no more mihani coaches please. This should help CQ to not hear moaning and groaning of mihani coaches. any of CQ, Branko, Kranjkar would have won the championship.
