this is what happens when our best players can't come to the tournament and our preparation is nothing. How do u expect our players do deal with in difficult in game situations well when they have little to no preparation in terms of test matches, and get the worst facilities. Ok Go ahead blame Khakpour. At Least he is a good guy, and tried his best. He is getting no support whatsoever. We should bring Hashemian in, and give him the proper tools necessary to succeed.

U23 Asian Championship; Quarter Final; Iran - Japan [22-01-2016]
Originally posted by Kiarash View PostStop bashing our players, they have done a good job with the amateur coach and restrictions. We were the better team 90 minutes long, we just fell apart afterwards. We had plenty of opportunities to win this game, luck wasn't on our side again.
bro, this is a results base business. It doesn't matter who played better, its who scores more goals that wins the match.
Simple as that.

Good bye Olympic. See you in four years.
Japanese are more trained, have a better control of the ball and could shoot more accurately.
Tough to face Japan. It should have been later, but good experience for Iran's players.
Mahdi Torabi was not the same person in this game. Good bye Qatar. Good bye Asian Championship cup 2016.چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد

Khakpour is great character and a great coach. We should stop throwing our guys into jobs like these. They need to learn from Hashemian and Mahdavikia and learn to start from the bottom. Thankfully Golmohammadi learned from his mistake of joining PP.
Regardless, the good news here is MK has nothing left to say and we finally learnt that there is no use in picking fights with your head coach of the your senior national team and expect to succeed just so you can say " I told you so " ....
I am so thankful our senior national team is not in the hands of such people.
Gamewise, we should've ended this in normal time, we are not mentally or physically ready for extra time.
EDIT: the extra time shows you how unfit we are and how emotionally charged we do play. If we had played a little more rationally we could've ended this game with the 3-4 100% chances we had in 90 minutes, also not to mention that luck was not on our side..... we hit the post 3 times already.

Japan has been head and shoulders above us all game with their possession and aerial wins.
Our number of Olympic appearances before the 1979 revolution: 3
Number of Olympic appearances after the 1979 revolution: 0
Asian Cup wins before rev: 3
Asian Cup wins after rev: 0
Our football will never prosper under this islamic regime. But these boys have played well and can leave with their heads held high. Hopefully we can focus on youth and infrastructure.
