He is basically the Dejagah of Colombia, he had a hard time scoring in Spain and he is not even 30 but he couldn't deal with the tough life anymore so he simply gave up. Easy money in China, that's all what matters to these kind of footballers. He was a really good striker at Porto though.

This guy is the best Colombian player.
This is the national team page of Club León FC player James Rodríguez. This page contains a statistic about the player's national team career.

Kind of pathetic tbh. They can't produce enough homegrown talent for a decent league so they have to spend ridiculous amounts of money on foreign players. They are hurting their national team with this.

No they're not, it's a great move by them. And if you don't see this, you're blinded by jealousy or hatred.

By bringing in foreign players, they're increasing the level of competition in their league, increasing their TV revenue, and with time, they're improving the level of their own players who play in their league.

England's a different case. But China doesn't have a world class league to be flooded with foreign players. It's to every Asian country's advantage to have foreign players to boost their level.

I don't see anything wrong with this. We would have been happy if we could do the same.

well, it is understanable if president of your country is probablly the biggest football fans on the erath and he dicided to make football the biggest sporting business of the country.

Seriously the CSL is closing to reach it's goal of making itself the premire league of Asia, Ti'ao Power, the company who holds the CSL broadcast rights had announced they have recieved bid for CSL international broadcasting rights from North/South America,Europe, Asia and Africa.

there has been a lot of changes to the league recentlly, China announced its soccer reform and development plan, sets goal of hosting World Cup.

According to the plan, the Chinese Football Association is now an independent legal, and nolonger a governmental agency.

Regarding the C-League, based on the Currentlly CFA League Council and CSL management company, the New CSL Council and China League Council will be established, both will be separate legal entity, means the CFA will nolonger holds equity of the League, currenttly the CFA holds 36% of the stocks of the CSL company.

Starts from January 10 2016, the League council had forbid club to relocate from their current province.

the League council also starts the plan to reform the current 3rd level and 4th level league,China League 2, the current 3rd level will be fully professional starts from 2018,the CAL, which is the 4th level and currentlly ameteurish championship, will be restructured to be a semi-pro League in 2017,and renamed as China League 3, there will be Promotion/relegation between China League 2 and China League 3.

The Shares of football club will be open to Private shareholders and local government, currentlly it only opens to Government owned or private owned companies. encorages local governments invests football clubs with facilities and infrastructure, encorages clubs to use Neutral names instead of sponsor names.

The League will be expanded, in earlier plan announced by the CFA, The CSL will have 18 clubs in 2020, while China League 1 will expand to 20 clubs, China League 2 will expand to 24 clubs.

In 2015, the League as a whole has a total income of 340 million EUR, it is expected the number will be triple in next year, as CSL signed new broadcast deal, 1088 million EUR for 5 years

China could and will be no 1 in Asia (at least initially at club level) . Asian Soccer closely follows the country economical power. Chinese have become very business savvy. This will also reflect in the most popular and money making sporting business. They have the money and the numbers.

Despite all the problems we have been having for our football development, none of the Asian teams are able to reach close to Iran. Just imagine if we would have the facilities/infrastructure/youth development/friendlies, we could have became one of the top 10 nations in football.

we should change Iran to Ifran. Whenever a country starts doing something we are the first to pop up with: If we would have bla bla bla.

IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.
