I love Branko and he was a great coach, better than any option we had then.

But he would be a step back for this reason only: He is not an agent of change.

Our problem in football is not the head coach. It is combating the corruption and nepotism that has plagued our football. That is what is holding us back and combating that is what CQ brings.

If he is replaced, it should be with someone who follows his passion to create change, not necessarily his playing style.

Branko is a great coach compared to Vatani coaches but compared to international ones he is mediocre at best. I never liked how he had the team pull back and defend every time we were one up. Also starting the game defensively against China in AC2004 was a grave mistake, and gave a weak team a chance to score on us. Had he played the same way as the previous game against S Korea we would have crushed China 3-0 and most likely win the tournament.

Besides his weak character which led to the team being divided at the WC, the team that he prepared for that tournament was not a 90 min team. In all the games our team just ran out of gas by the 60th min.

So he may have been good for Asian standards but he failed big time at the world stage.

It looks as though he's off this time for sure as he is having a real go at the corrupt ppl that are running team Meli and associated projects, namely the academy. In the past he more concentrated on accusations that individuals like Asadi and GN were making against him and lack of facilities, proper training ground, jerseys etc. A very distinguished difference between two different lines of attack and Critism!
