This would work much better, if there was a way to count the # of "thanks" each active member has received in march, for example, then make a poll of the most thanked people for that month and pick the member of the month that way

Interesting idea, but I doubt there is any forum feature to monthly count the amount of "thanks" of each member, it’s also impossible to do that manually.
