watched 20 min of the match and turn off after the first goal. Was a waste of time to watch this game and waste of time to play such weak opposition. I hope our players won't used to have 10 hours to control/think/pass (and even that was not done perfectly). And we needed two penalties to trash India. Fortunately we don't have to lose our time with ACQ in three years.

After 4 months without a match and couple of new faces we still created enough chances, showed a lot of potential and have nothing to worry about in the last game.
Some people are forgetting we are going through a crucial generation change, and this might be because of CQ's fantastic work as the transition was sooo smooth and the team still is intact. However keep in mind this is such a huge challenge as it takes time and dedication - and so far we are doing well!
I use this quote and kindly remind you, that you have achieved nothing until you are at the top holding the trophy, and the last trophy TM won was? Being favourites time in and time out without actually living up to the potential leaves fans always wanting more. Nothing against CQ, TM, fans, or anyone else. We just want to be the best team in Asia and have the hardware to match our FIFA ranking to prove it. That is ultimately why our TM competes in tournaments right, to win? Or are we always going to be satisfied with the usual?Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan

All the credits to the Indian goalie for suddenly becoming Buffon against us today but.....
How on earth could we miss so many chances?! Why can't we score a f**king goal from close distances! A lot of the shots were way way over the bar and missed as if the players were not focused!
I really liked the lineup though?! Finally a lineup without oldies!

Player Ratings:
Mazaheri N/A - wasn't tested
Rezaeian 6 - good first half, not much in second
Pouraliganji 7 - decent
Montazeri 7- decent
Hajsafi 8 - he scored 2 goals, was very active going forward, but a few poor passes. He also lost his marker a couple of times (as per usual)
Ezatollahi 6.5 - Great first half, nice dribbles, passing, and okay shooting. However second half he wasn't gerat
Ebrahimi 7 - solid, great shot
Taremi 4 - mostly invisible
Jahanbakhsh 8.5 - MVP, great first half, amazing crosses, nice goal, got back on defense. Really impresed
Azmoun 7 - found space well, passed well, scored a goal, i think he hit the crossbar too. However he needs to be more focused.
Amiri 3 - worst player from our side, terrible in all aspects
SUBS:
Shojaeian 6.5 - played well for the time that he was on
Ansarifard 6.5 - not on for long, but made his presence. He also looks to be in great shape!
Hosseini - N/A congrats on 100th cap
Overall:
- We relayed too much on crosses. It was so predictable, Jahanbakhsh showed how easy it was to dribble these indian defenders, and by not crossing one time he just simply ran past him to score.
- Some nice long range shots
- The couple of times india had a break it was Hajsafi's poor man marking, tired of seeing him as LB
- Very nice quick short passes by our players, and we really used our speed
- Some nice crosses but no finish from our strikers
- So many corners, expected more goals
- Easy game overall, could've scored more. Would've liked to see more short passes inside the box rather than crosses everytime
Next game would like to see

Also looking forward to having an injury free Reza back, he is the most clinical striker we have. No disrespect to Azmoun, Taremi, and Ansarifard but I still think he is our best striker.--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------

Anyway, the India match rather was a friendly/preparation match for us to use in order to let the team come together after 4 months and get the new youngsters running as well. Point was that a new generation is being implanted and they need TIME. If we put too much pressure on them and complain about every little detail they will simply collapse like uncountable other youngsters in the past.

our performance wasn't too good. We played ok, still we had enough chances to score a couple more vs. India. Azmoun needs to be more clinical in front of goal, although it seems like he performs better vs. good opposition. The game vs. Oman should be a good test. I guess now we can see what an impact Dejagah has on our team. He just makes our offense look better.
Player Ratings:
Mazaheri 6- not really tested but it was a good choice to try him out.
Rezaeian 4- he sucked today
Pouraliganji 7
Montazeri 7
Hajsafi 8- Other then a couple of bad passes, he was great today
Ezattolahi 7- Decent, faded more as the game went on
O.Ebrahimi 7.5- controlled the game well
Amiri 4- He sucked today as well. He has downgraded in TM ever since the Asian Cup
Jahanbakhsh 8- Arguably our best player today. He created chances, scored a nice goal and his corners basically won us the game.
Taremi 6- Didn't see anything special from him today. Not one of his better games he has played for TM
Azmoun 7- Should of had a hatrick. He played ok but missed too many good chances. Needs to be more clinical infront of goal.
Subs:
Hosseini 6
Ansarifard 6.5
Shojaeian 7

It's not like we played Argentina...it was India, and any Iran team should have won this match easily. I feel guys like Azmoun today could have done better and let's not make a mountain out of a mole hill...fact is lot's of room for improvememt 4 months off or not...I think your post seems to indicate you feel the same way, I am just saying screw the excuses, they don't get results!

For sure Azmoun could have done better, no way to deny that. Just don’t like these random comparisons with Daei/Hashemian or immediately demanding him to be replaced.... We constantly change our opinion after only 90 minutes each time - hero or zero, nothing between it.
At the end let's not also forget its football; we know how strange it can be sometimes. Just today S.Korea played at home vs. Lebanon and only managed to score in the last minute; Uzbekistan only scored one goal vs. a 10men Philippines team, Oman also only one goal vs. Guam...Overall yes, I agree and feel the same way - we have to keep a high standard, but I just think it will also backfire if we exaggerate and ignore the situation.Last edited by Nariman; 03-24-2016, 06:24 PM.Formerly known as Persianking!
