However he looks like a bache shir or like an iranian yoozpalang, always dangerious ....

If CQ is so insistent on using Taromi in the line up (to please red fans?), then he can change the formation. But continuing with this, he's being wasteful in multiple ways

Overall Team Performance: 5 out of 10

Key Observations:

Haj Safi -- For me Haj Safi was the best player today. He showed how much he has learned in his rather short time in Germany and how capable he is to actually put all his learning in action. His maturity was obvious not just in his play but in his attitude and mindset towards the game. I was very impressed with him today. The Captain's arm band look right on him. Bravo Ehsan! keep up the good work.

Azmoun -- This player is the future of team. He is simply the best and most intelligent striker we have in Iran at the moment. Although his performance today may be not at best, but his experience and skills is what we need to rely on during the qualification round to 2018 WC.

R. Rezaeian -- I was impressed with him during his first few games with TM, but as time goes by, he seems to be getting worse. I don't know if this is as a result of his poor club performance but he is at the moment, just very ineffective. Poor passing and really poor crossing abilities.

Pouraliganji - he is a shaky defender at best! ... He does this strange move in the back every time he gets the ball. He moves forward with the ball, passes the mid field players and then at some point stops and make a back pass to the mid fielders. Like, why can't you make that simple pass from he beginning?

Montazeri -- He wasn't really tested today. But looked still like a good reliable defender.

Ezattolahi -- Good player but you can't make him Nekonum.

O.Ebrahimi -- His style is just reflective of what is going on in his club team. Every ball he gets in the mid field ends up to be a long ball to the flanks. No play making!

Amiri -- Brain less today.

Jahanbakhsh -- I have yet to see him play real good for TM.

Taremi -- had a bad day.

Ansarifard -- I still say, he is not good!

Shojaeian -- invisible.

Also, there is something about Amiri that just doesn't have me convinced.... it could be the fact that he avoids every possible reason to use his right foot, even if it means ruining the effectiveness of a play. The way he goes about it makes me think he can't even use his right foot at all.

We are very lucky k to have Ezatollahi. He looks poised to fill those big shoes Nekunam left in TM. I hope he can mature to a pivotal player for TM.

Towards the end of the game he made a stupid comment about Mazaheri's black jersey and highlight green shoes/gloves. What the hell Khiabani smoking?

Clearly rusty but that's acceptable specially when your passing and crossing etc. But shooting, you cant be rusty in shooting, for gods sake keep it down and low.

Azmoun missed few opportunities and clearly shows not playing regularly has affected his game. I enjoyed middle of the park specially Ezatollahi, very confident and composed, controlled the game well.

Our wingers have to take on the defenders more, every time they went for a cross. They should try a few times to dribble past the defenders. One time Jahanbakh did this he scored.

Looks like we watched the same game ..!

Mazaheri - 5 Did not look confident at all and communicated poorly with the defense.
Rezaeian - 5.5 a lot of running but I didn't like his crosses, too rushed.
Pouraliganji - 5, not very confident and looked out of form.
Montazeri - 7. classic montazeri, pretty collected and confident.
Hajsafi - 7 made a lot of runs and was very involved in the attack, I wish he would have kept more crosses low to the ground, but he scored two good penalties and probably ran more than any player.
Ebrahimi - 8 Proved me wrong, he has been consistently solid AF in all of his recent TM games, good distribution and coverage of our defense.
Ezzatollahi - 7 Has very good vision, good passing, his crosses weren't as good long distance, but he was hustling hard and had some nice dribbles.
Amiri - 4.5 lots of running but many times became useless because of his weak foot, not in the same form as chile or sweden games.
Jahanbakhsh - 7 much better from him, lots of running, a very good goal, defensive hustle. his corners could use some improvement, he should practice with ando.
Taremi - 5 - not as good as usual today, his shots were all way, way off, however i think he deserved a penalty.
Azmoun - 7 - very active but not as killer and precise as he usually is. could have scored 2 more with some better focus.

Hosseini - 6, solid not tested much
Shojaeian - 8 - seemed very active and eager to prove himself, has a lot of energy and good speed. good sub
Ansarifard - 6.5 much more physical and involved compared to previous tm appearances, perhaps playing in europe has changed his style. I still want to see him start a game with azmoun.




On the ezatollahi - ebrahimi combo.

I think considering the fact that ezatollahi will most likely get better and better, its a solid combo and we saw that it worked very well against high caliber opposition as well (japan). id like to see how it works against croatia.
I think in games versus strong opponents, it would be smart to start with these two and bring in ando to seal the game if we are ahead with some goals.

Ebrahimi is a superior distributor of the ball, especially with long balls, has pretty decent accuracy.

Saeid has a huge height advantage for headers, has better dribbling and attack skills.

Ebrahim is certainly more of a DM while saeid is more of a CM.

However ezatollahi certainly doesnt lack creativity and seems to have more attacking instinct than nekounam and teymourian combined.

I still can't believe Ezatolahi is only 19 years old! We have such amazing young talents, I have big hopes for all of them. Especially the ones that moved to Europe. They are starting to run the show in the national team, dameshoon garm!
