5 days will be no problem. I can say have a seat and don't worry, Iran is already in World cup 2018 together with South Korea. Against Syria I expect more than 6 goals differents. We will play in Syria the game? Damuscus? What about the war?

I was not aware that Uzbeks speak Sogdian an ancient Iranian language. Because Samarghand or Bokhara don't mean anything in Uzbeki.

What's next Ismail Samani was a Turk?

Be glad Iran is weak now because when we have our power back, historical revisionism like this won't stand.

Just a fun fact by the way, the -Istan in your name? Persian. at least don't talk against Persians when the very name of your country is Persian.

scheduling seems to have worked out to our favor too..!! we should qualify with relative ease..!

the bold are the vital match-ups and there are months of gaps between those games for preps and recovery..!!
we could well be 90% qualified before hosting Syria in our final WCQ and perhaps be in position to choose who to pick to accompany us to Russia ..!
                  Matchday 8: June 13, 2017 = 1 vs 3, 6 vs 4 and 5 vs 2
                  Matchday 9: August 31, 2017 = 6 vs 5, 4 vs 3 and 2 vs 1

No, but Chicago is not an American Indian city either.
If you around hard I am sure there will be some cities in Iran with Elamite names which have nothing to do with Persian.

The same can be said about Amir Temur, who also conquered half the world, and Samarkand was the capital of his empire. The Uzbeks are the heirs of that empire but let's not to discuss the history.

Sure. I just find it weird when Turkic people from central asia deny their shared history with Iran. Central asia is the original homeland of the Iranian tribes, before some of them migrated to the Iranian plateau.

Anyway, I actually see this as great football banter. It got historical.

We will play in Raqqa or Damascus? We must protest to FIFA/AFC that we don't play in Syria.

Haha. I heard Aleppo is lovely this time of the year.

In all seriousness, we are probably going to play Syria in Oman.

Timur was from a tribe of Turkicized Mongols(Mongols who became Turkic culturally and genetically much like Hazara today) and his empire became Persianized culturally later on.
Uzbeks claiming him may offend Mongols or Turkic peoples other than Uzbeks so I had to correct it despite the fact it is off topic.

Has anyone noticed the size difference? 4 out of 5 Asia's biggest teams(physically) are all in Group A. Group A is humongous compared with Group B.
Iran are 4th(height-wise) or 3rd(body size) out of 6. This must be a new experience.
