If the referee calls every foul in their favor like the match in Tehran, they could win. Uzbeks can never beat us in a fair match. We beat them in their home just a few months ago.
Everyone always cries about their disallowed goal in Tashkent, but we scored a 100% legit goal against them anyway there. They wouldn't have won at home either way. And we had a great goal that was called off for the bs reason of Khalatbari being 3 feet outside of the GK's field of vision, but the linesman thought it was interference from his terrible position, and that would be called a goal 9/10 times by a proper referee. Oh, and they got their goal from their players playing dirty and elbowing our player after a legit tackle, and after the scuffle the dumb referee decided to give them a free kick?
Yes, if the referee is an absolute retard, they can win. Otherwise, Iran will beat Uzbekistan Monday through Friday, 2011-2050, 24/7, every DAMN day. That's honestly most teams in Asia. Outside of Japan and S. Korea, no team in Asia can beat us outside of referee bs, and that showed in the Asian Cup. We pulled back twice after playing a man down for 80 minutes.
Uzbeks can only dream of doing such a thing. They'd lose 4-0 to Iraq in the same situation. Iran is the beast of Asia who runs on pure gheyrat, and I am excited for the boys to spoil the group opponents' hopes.
Well, unless Ben Williams referees another match in our qualification. Then we're screwed...
