well they will, cause they play thier home games in tehran now, if they play games in tehran can be very good for us, guam could not since guam can play at home, iraq cant

IMO best possible group for us:

Iran, Korea, Saudi, China, Iraq, Syria

1- Iraq and Syria can't host games. So we will dodge two away games against hostile Arab crowds. Stadiums will be nearly empty, which plays to our advantage. Also, it'll be funny to see if the Saudis will dodge coming to Iran for the game. Maybe they forfeit, and it's been a while since we beat those scumbags anyways !

I actually don't mind getting Japan either. I'm sick of playing Korea, that one I don't care. but I want the Arab trio + China (They are fun to play against).

Still mind boggling that Australia has been part of AFC for over a decade and we haven't play them even once, and won't play for another 2 years at least it seems.

It's already been determined by AFC. Iran and Saudi both at club and NT level will only play at neutral venues.

The down side of having too many east Asian teams and Aussie in our group is travelling, it will kill the team doing too many of it, Imagine a group with Aussie, China and either of SK or Japan, too much travelling...

under BS grounds that Saudi thinks Iran is dangerous for its nationals and will not lift the ban of Saudi citizens to Iran. of course AFC accepted it:

also link above discusses ACL clubs but I can't find the link atm but read in a FarsNews article that it is same for NTs should they get grouped together for next round.

If they are grouped with us, their home games will be moved to Oman or Jordan most likely.

ASIA World Cup Qualifying FINAL ROUND

This final round of WCQ will be super tough. Last time around we had been grouped with fairly easy teams as opposed to what the possibilities of this time around looks like.

Anyway today we witnessed 2 different TMs, I definitely cannot fancy the second half team, the entire team seemed to have lost precision and concentration. So many wrong passes and crosses, not to mention the constant lost possession by our players, it was really frustrating to watch them play sloppy like that.

Our biggest flaw is our finishing, this has been a real problem for about 10 years now, and seems like we have not had any real solution for it either. Our strikers have often been one season wonders who have only impressed within their club duties, while rather disappointing with TM.

Overall a prospective and great young team that will sure shine and perform well with time. I have faith in them.

CQ seemed like he was determined to depart Iran and TM for good. The man is fed up with this federation and people in charge of the country.

It is extremely frustrating seeing the lack of finishing touch. When games get more difficult, there won't be many chances. One missed chance could mean the difference between a win or a tie, or defeat. I screamed at the TV when no one assisted Ezatollahi when he pushed up and created a situation in front of Al-Habbsi, the goal was wide open and someone just needed to tap it in. Or Ansarifard's first shot that rolled off the top of his foot and didn't even go toward the direction of the goal.

Keano jaan, your write-ups are always negative when it comes to TM. You always condemn Team Melli in different ways, yet when you talk about other teams they are the best and greatest thing in the world, when they are actually shite and beyond horrible. It's just a weird mental pathology. When in fact, we did very well this round. How many teams in Asia can beat Oman 2-0? Korea had problems with them in Asia Cup. Japan beat them 2-1 last qualifiers.

Azmoun is a one hit wonder? Taremi too? Seriously bro? How many goals have they scored this round? I just wish we had Younis Mahmood.

The way AFC schedule things too, it will probably be something insane like going all the way to east Asia and then flying back to west Asia to play a game 3 hrs later, while Saudi's games will all be perfectly scheduled.

I don't want Saudi Arabia because we can't play with them at Home due to the recent political issues. so I prefer Uzbekistan over them. Either way it's not going to be an easy qualification.
