It's definitely true. Although I don't think it was right to announce this publicly...
Apparently, the only reason they did was because many people were claiming it was suicide, so they wanted to put an end to that. Pretty much made it worse by saying it was drugs.

They specifically said recreational drugs, if it were PE they would have said "doping".

What I don't understand is why they didn't reveal the same info for Hadi Norouzi and only said "heart attack".

And was revealing that information even legal?

We never know what exactly goes down. All I know for sure is that athletes/gym-goers in sports or not are taking cheap/dangerous performance enhancing drugs and Iran's Sporting Fed is doing nothing about it unless they need them for international competitions. (to avoid embarrassment)

Another thing to consider (im a persepolisi) is that Hadi Norouzi's had bigger party bazi than Oladi. Could this have played a vital role? Were the tests faked? Who knows. Maybe it will leak in time.

Also, Oladi's case could have been that PGL and Sporting Federation was doing damage control by saying alcohol and drugs when it was for example cheap/dangerous anabolic steroids they didn't monitor at all!

We all don't know what's happening exactly and it's all too fishy. This will definitely be leaked in time if my suspicions are correct.

There is nothing wrong with publicizing the cause of death in cases such as this or Norouzi's.
we would essentially be betraying ourselves by not truthfully investigating the cause of death. and after that we have to make sure that your younger people hear about it without holding anything back??

I believe we made these men famous and therefore, we have the right to know what happened to them.
If Oladi had died in a car crash I would have wanted to know if he was Drunk and driving,

You know people die from mixing drugs (esp. prescription) and alcohol all the time, right? Just not a good combination.

My only point was the language used. In English "drugs" can mean many things. But in Persian, "mokhader" has a specific meaning and that is "narcotics". So translating it as "drugs" can confuse the reader.

As for the intent behind it all, you may very well be correct.

Is it possible they may be trying to cover up the drug use as not being performance enhancing for fears they may change AFC Champions League Results/Ban Persepolis for future competitions/cause problems in IPL?

It is so sad. I hear a lot of our athletes in Iran do drugs. This girl who went to Iran for several months (She is a very sheytoon girl BTW) was telling me how one of our most and biggest talents he plays absolute high caliber football (I will not mention his name for privacy reasons) constantly and everyday smokes hookah, parties a lot and drinks alcohol in al parties. I didn't wanna believe her until she played videos of him smoking that crap and drinking like maniacs.

I was so disturbed and disgusted and wished I were a friend of his, so that I could slap some senses into his face. I just hope not a big majority of our youth in Iran choose to live that way, especially that the drugs consumed in Iran are of extremely low quality and life risking dangerous!

They did reveal the info from Hadi Norouzi's autopsy, he died from an undetected genetic heart defect.

No, it doesn't work that way.

I read heart attack, did they officially say genetic defect?

I think this is the second time I'm reading this, is this some story some months old?

Also again, why do you guys (not directed at you Keano) love to create rumours. It's not uncommon for young athletes to die from hearth attacks (just recently Ekong died on the pitch, 26 years old). So why is everybody doubting the cause of death of Noroozi?
Clearly if it would've been anything else, they would've announced it, like they did it with Oladi. I also don't see a problem in announcing the cause of death of a public figure, something that happens (and has happened) all over the world.

Think so, read it on footballitarin, said he died from Cardiac Arrest which was a result of a heart condition. Funny thing was that his pre-season ECG and Echocardiogram showed no problems with his heart.
