All the 6ft+ people in my family went to volleyball and 1 to basketball. Also there is still a very negative stigma still attached with playing football. Many still view it as bi-kelas, whereas volleyball and basketball are not viewed like that.راه یکی است و آن راستی است

Volleyball players have very long legs and arms which are not good for football.
Only muscle mass might be influenced by training. For instance, I'm 6'3" or ~193 cm. and I am good at volleyball but I can't get the same height, because my legs aren't as long as volleyball players who are the same height as me, I have a very broad and more wrestling looking body.AKP Parti, Turkiye - Haj Bernie Sandersoglu

To be a defender under CQs system, you need to be able to be head the ball very well. That being said, I think if this tafazoli guy can get his way up to the championship, he should get called up.

article today in bbc regarding tafazolli, seems he is very highly rated in lower leagues, many examples of players like dele Alli,Michail Antonio, aaron cresswell, etc making jump up from lower leagues to premier league almost seamlessly.Given his age ,only 24 he may get a shot. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36133144
also heres his instagram for those interested https://www.instagram.com/ryantafazolli/?hl=en Bacheye khosh heykaleie

They want to extend his contract. If he refuses (He should, if he wants to play for TM), he will be a free agent in a few months.

^his agent should be hard at work these days trying to land him a suitable next destination..!!
its clear as day he can perform at higher levels of english or other European football and 24 is certainly not that young to extend contract at Mansfield and clearly make himself less marketable due to suitors would be forced to pay a transfer fee to club too..!
i suppose if he feels a huge debt of gratitude to Mansfield, he could opt for a short term extension with provisions which will allow him to leave for a better league if interest is shown ..!! this way his parent club can get a bit of money from the transfer too..!
currently, the stigma of playing for a 4th level club is the biggest stumbling block to him getting a call up to TM ahead of Russia 2018..!! i already can imagine the likes of MK or other ignorant goozoos in iranian media having a field day with this, supposed dou- rageh guy..!!
