its a sad day when league two has more physically fit players than IPL. I can only imagine how much better IPL would be if the players watched their eating, and took fitness more seriously.

if he moves to a better league I'm 100% for giving him a try in TM. its not like IPL has very good defenders anyways.

Would he be the tallest play to ever play for TM, if he does play for us?

Beiranvand is 195 or even 196 according to some sources, therefore taller (or same height? not sure)

Iranians always seem to fascinated by tall people. Sure, it's good to have a tall defender, but that is far from the most important attribute.

agreed can imagine him and pag causing a huge amount of problems from set pieces against most asian defenses. Hey im up for calling him up , hes clearly one of the best players in his league, didn't australia have a league 1 player that caused a huge amount of problems for teams in the last asian cup. Its not really about the league its about what the player can offer to the team and i think ryan can benefit the team greatly.

I just checked his transfer market. He played 3700 minutes in one semester !! That's like 2.5 regular league seasons! He was right about their players being super fit!

Also 5 goals and 2 assists as a CB. Impressive.

if Ezzatollahi can go from athleticos youth team in the 3 division to a starter beast in TM then Tafazolli can make it to TM from league 2

The AUSTRALIAN team has included Brad Inman for the friendly against England.

Interesting to note that Inman plays for the rock-bottom team in League one, Crewe Alexander who have already been relegated to League two a couple of weeks ago.

Just goes to show that Ryan doesn't have to play championship football to earn himself a call up, I reckon league one football with a decent team is worth a call to TM.

"Boss admits Ryan Tafazolli likely to leave Mansfield Town after 0-0 draw against Cambridge United

Mansfield Town boss Adam Murray conceded Ryan Tafazolli has probably played his last game for the Stags after the defender limped off at half-time of their goalless draw with Cambridge United.

A share of the spoils means the Stags finish the League Two season in 12th but they are unlikely to have Tafazolli for next term.

The highly-rated 24-year-old has been offered a new contract at the One Call Stadium but Murray does not hold much hope for keeping him at the club.

He said: "The chairman has put together an unbelievable offer and there is nothing more now that we can do – it is up to Taf.

"My gut feeling is that 'yes' he will leave the football club in the summer.

"He is not financially driven and it is not the case that he his demanding x, y and z but, if he wants to play at a higher level, that is up to him.

"In my view, he would benefit from another season in League Two and try to become the best defender in the division, because he still has much to learn."

Neither goalkeeper made a serious save throughout an uninspiring 93 minutes although Stags will feel the weight of their second-half pressure merited better reward.

The point enabled Mansfield to finish in the top half after a campaign in which they flirted with the play-off spots.

After an early Cambridge flurry in which skipper Luke Berry sent a left-footed shot just wide and Ryan Ledson volleyed inches over the top, the first half offered little entertainment.

Mansfield's best moments came from set-pieces, with Malcolm Benning forcing a comfortable save from Will Norris and Chris Clements heading an Adam Chapman corner wide.

Leading scorer Matt Green was starved of service but did hook the ball into the net from an offside position in the 44th minute.

An injury to Tafazolli was turned to Mansfield's advantage as Murray introduced the energetic James Baxendale at half-time, with Mitchell Rose dropping back to right-back.

Chris Clements (twice) and Matty Blair miscued in the box in one hectic Stags flurry and youngster Zayn Hakeem failed to take advantage of a half chance seconds after coming on for his debut in place of Emmanuel Dieseruvwe.

Fine skill on the right side of the area from Green provided a rare opening for Benning, whose shot was headed to safety by Darnell Furlong.

Cambridge were pinned back in their own half for almost all of the second period, with Green narrowly failing to lift the ball over Norris after another foraging run.

Mansfield continued to press until the final whistle despite surprisingly taking off Green in the 83rd minute.

"It was a bit of an end-of-season affair in the first half but afterwards we got more impetus and energy and ultimately we have come away with a draw and a clean sheet," added Murray.

"We have come a long way in a short time and I hope our supporters can be proud. We've put in some good performances, battered our local rivals Notts County twice and were in with a chance of getting to the play-offs.

"I'll now take some time to review what has happened and think how we can get better and how I can get better.""
