I think Nokhodi answered this question on the previous page. In all seriousness, no news. He's still clubless, and training alone according to his instagram. Surprising not even a Perspolis or Esteghlal or Tractor picked him up until December just to allow him to train. I'm thinking he has an injury, to be honest.

They would love to have him, and I'm sure they made overtures. But he either has Good ambition (Bundesliga etc.) or $$$ ambition (Qatar again).

Your argument is refuted by leagues such as in Turkey, where one could consider them a top 10 league if not a top 7 league, but it would be ridiculous to call them a top 10 or top 7 national team. Let Kaveh go to China and make some decent money... Who cares at this point
Thats the point. Again, 85% of their league is Chinese players which is the vast majority. They are only allowed 3-4 foreign players which means the bulk of the squad is domestic. The big name foreign players along with some not so shit domestic players on a team like Guangzhou get them the acl results, but the rest of the teams in the mid and bottom table have mediocre chinese players. The foreign players on those teams still might be better than the ipl ones but 3 players arent going to make as much of a difference on the less rich teams.

Turkey is irrelevant because there is no foreign player limit in Uefa.

Lak confirmed that he received a serious offer from a Swedish team and it looks like he opts to leave.

You know anyone in our league is capable of playing in Europe when Lak has offers from Swedish teams

In all fairness he improved well last 1-2 seasons, he was making shocking blunders few years ago. Granted I would not even put him in our top 5 keepers currently, but he has become more solid recently

A LOT of players are actually capable of playing in Europe, but we all know the reasons why the majority stay in PGL or move to some shitty arab league.

Hamed Lak is one of the bigger talents, but just like the rest declined throughout the years playing in Iran. Haghighi & Makani for example experienced the same, but managed to join TM when they moved to Europe. Unfortunately the same will happen to likes of Beiranvand if he continues to stay in Iran, just a matter of time - at very best we can hope he stagnates.

btw. I think Lak already had offers from a turkish club some time ago - only way for him to reach TM is to get out of Iran as soon as possible

I don't think that Lak will be invited to TM under CQ reign after what he said about CQ before the WC. He apologized though but I doubt that CQ will forgive him.

I think it could depend on the player, Rahmati could be seen as an example as he has maintained a level close to his peak for several years even though he never played outside Iran. However in general I agree, at some point when our players in Iran hit 24-25 years old they stagnate at best and most of the time start declining.

Makani still imo won't get to be invited to TM too often if he stays in the league that he's currently in (had some very shaky exits vs Syria btw), I believe that all 18 starting keepers in our league can have performances similar to his if not better in that 2nd Norwegian division.

We can only hope that Beiranvand will want to soon look for a new challenge after Persepolis and decides to leave to Europe, he has the potential to be a starting keeper anywhere in Russian/Portuguese/Turkish level leagues, same case for Akhbari who can easily develop into a great player too.

Indeed there are very very few examples like Jalal Hosseini playing solid and consistent all the years, but even he could have improved his game and reach higher levels had he joined Wolfsburg back then (he regrets it as well). Rahmati actually fell into a hole for some time, also became ignorant, until he managed to regain his form - but despite maintaining a solid performance, he never improved and pretty much stayed on the same level, having the same weaknesses. His potential was huge - he could have become one of the best ever, if not the best! He single handedly has been saving Esteghlal's ass for few years, apparently today again.

At the end not everyone might make it in Europe, but by staying in Iran there is a damn high probability that they will decline and there is almost no way to improve. Hence why our players must try it at least - they can always return back, but they might only have one chance to move to Europe. I believe we even have bigger talents than Jahanbakhsh or Azmoun, but the majority goes to waste. Likes of Gucci or Cashkan would have never reached such high status had they been playing in Iran from the start.
