Because he barely scores any goals and is nowhere near in form. He’s living off his reputation from way back. A lot of money for one season. Could have spent that money on so many other things for the club.

Totally agree the money would have been better spent elsewhere but he has by far the biggest and best experience of any foreign player who has signed for Persepolis. He did struggle in bundesliga and premier league but he also was amazing for PSV early on in his career and I’m inclined to believe playing in the PGPL will bring him back to his good days since he’s going down 20 levels from premier league/bundesliga.

I don’t think he is a god send but I think he should be able to bag 15-20 goals a season for us.

Don't know why there is such hostility to bringing foreign players who are somewhat expensive but can substantially raise the quality of the league. Having a player who has played in the EPL, Dutch league, MLS, and Bundesliga is a priceless amount of experience that can elevate the level of the young players and provide a role model for them, who can help mentor them. The fact is those leagues are far more professional than the IPL and bringing that stature to the league is excellent

Honestly if he is motivated its a great signing. He brings pedigree, physicality, and would form interesting pairing with abdi. With Torabi and Sadeghi behind them PP have a lot of firepower.
