Anyone knows what happened to Arash Afshin?

He was considered as one of the most promising players in Iran back in 2010-11. His performance in AC 2011 was sensational. He even went to earn a call up from CQ prior to WC 2014, but was dropped in favor of his perusal of a potential move to one of the top French teams. And then all of a sudden he became less and less favorite with his clubs... His last appearance was Malavan due to his military service obligations, but that was at the start of the season. He has now disappeared complete from the game. Does anyone know where he is and whether he is gone for good?

He served his Military time in Malavan then returned to Kut Abdullah.
Few months ago he talked with Veisi about joining Esteghlal but offer was not acceptable to him.

I was actually thinking about his wasted potential this morning!! He goes into the category of Nikbakht, Khaziravi etc...

Afshin's story is different because of his injury troubles.

In the last 4 years he had 3 long term injuries (missing more than half the season), and 1 year of suspension during that crazy sarbazi saga we had.

He finished his sarbazi in Malavan this season I believe, so he can go to a new team now. Unfortunately he was injured and missed most of the season again, although he started quite well (4 goals in 8 games I believe?)

He is training and getting back in shape now, and is still of a decent age. If he can stay healthy, he can have a good season. He has gotten stronger physically than he used to be, which helps him a lot, since he is already so fast and agile.

His instagram to get daily updates. He was one of my favourite prospects. He had raw talent and a very good physique. Hope he makes it, he's only 27, so he has some time but he needs to push hard to get where he needs to be.

Wow time flies, feels like not too long ago when we were all excited about a 20-21 year old talent being introduced to our football. He is already 27 now. Poor guy is one of those injury-prone unlucky players.

                  what a good looking guy!

It is really a sad story that a player like he became the victim of our poor system.

He could have been one of the top stars of TM.

He went from playing in Asian Cup, second major tournament in Asian football to not getting regular playing time in IPL. From hero to zero. As i said unless some younger kids i don't excited very fast over any Iranian player but i had some hope for him. He seemed to be a decent prospect. That is football though.
