Unlike yesterday, the better team went through. Al Ain deserved it as they played much better football than Zob Ahan imo.
Since the start of the match, Zob players seem to be playing with no ambition, it's as if their minds are preoccupied with either the Hazfi Cup final or getting transferred to another club..

Its not worth the money spent.
        It has no real prestige.
If this was a youth tournament, I would be upset, but I don't really care if our teams do well in this tournament. It has no translation or effect on actually improving Iran's football.
You can't say you don't care, that is 3rd major tournament in Asia behind WCQ and Asian Cup. The schedule issue is fcuked up but is not only for us, all west Asian teams having same problem. The reality is UAE, Qatar league at this stage are better than ours. UAE league has an edge because on top of having quality foreigners their local players are doing much better compare to 10 years a go and compare to Qataris.

Also the finishing describes the mental situation of Zob Ahan. Usually, they would've converted those chances.

Al Ain> Al Nasr> Any Iranian team. The bad news is Al Ain & Al Nasr will not get any further which gives us the real story of where Iranian football stands.

Of course we criticize and question our players for joining arab leagues and we MUST continue to do so. NOTHING justifies such move, unless the player is at the end of his career and wants to make some $$$.

still pretty young for a keeper

Our teams need psychologists..there is a reason why Zob Ahan couldn't even convert a single goal opportunity and was shaky in defense. The same Zob Ahan that scored 6 goals against the Saudis and had the best defense of all ACL teams.

All props to Yahya, but neither him, nor Branko or any IPL coach are close to Queiroz, since most of them are struggling on mental issues.

Their performance remembered me of Perspolis' last games in IPL, where they they all the pressure on their shoulders and choked.

Give me one LOGIC reason to critisize such a thing. PLEASE!
When a player has no future in Europe and has no real offer(other than typical Bazar-Garmi in media), he has a choice between IPL vs Qatar league. Why would he stay in IPL when the offer is 3 times more and quality if is not better than IPL is not worse?
Those days that people bashed Arab leagues because of poor quality vs IPL is over. Get over it guys.
As i said many times i am in favor of any European move(even Belgium, Greece, etc) over these leagues but in case of no offer, i don't see why a player shouldn't make more money, Nooshe Joonesh..

Yes, but their leagues are not sustainable. And that's why my general problem is. I shouldn't really care about winning an F1 race when I can barely drive!

However, I don't think there is a talent gap, if anything talent is the only thing keeping our football up. Otherwise in terms of infrastructure and professionalism, we are still very far behind. These comments may seem like slogans by me, but I think we can agree its generally true.

There is also a reason why CQ is such a good coach - he gets this talent to deliver results when it matters. As good as some of our coaches may be they still are from the generations of coaches that are always afraid and panicking.

You need to develop talents. You can't say for example X has potential to become best midfielder in Iran in 5 years and wait and do nothing and hope he become one. You need to put the guy in right environment and give him all tools to have success. Yes the gap is not YET huge, even though i guess today a guy like Abdulrahman put pretty much whole Zob team in his pocket.
Yes, Vatani coaches all suck. That was Yahya, supposedly best young coach in country, right? What make me laugh is har ki az nanash gar karde rajebe CQ nazar mideh onvaght be ina to Bangeladesh team nemidan. Bash Ghotbi as much as you want but 99.9% of coaches in Iran wish to be in his place. Who was last Iranian coach who coaches outside? Mohajerani? and that is back to stone age!!
