So South Korea gets a friendly with Spain and we get a friendly with Macedonia. lol
Don't be so ungrateful.. we got Kyrgyzstan too.
South Korea will grow more from a 5-0 defeat against Spain than we will with a hundred 2-0/3-0 wins against Macedonia, Kyrgyzstan, Bhutan, Djibouti, the Vatican, wherever.
ha ha ha
thats exactly why CQ avoids such friendlies ..!
can you imagine the immense damage to SKorean's psyche after such an embarrassing beat-down..!!??
sure it would be great match-up for us fans to face such marquee opponents but fact is that we simply are not yet ready to face such quality opponents and such confidence draining rapeage would be somewhat likely outcome, and not to mention the effect on our #1 asia ranking as a result of it..!!

I would take a 6-1 loss to Spain to prepare for tougher competition than beat Macedonia 6-1. You should play better opposition if you want to improve, not worse opposition.
It depends on how you use these friendlies. For example, as a team we learned nothing when Mexico thrashed us 4-0 in the Azteca a few years ago. Our team was a B team for some reason, Ghalenoei used a tactic that was different than what we were using and we ended up using the old tactics in the Asian cup anyway.
We have South Korea at a good time in their transition. They haven't found a main striker yet and most of their bench isnt as deep as it used to be. We need to rewatch this game and figure out their weaknesses once more. From the 60 minutes I saw it was mostly weakness on air balls and chasing runners that beat the offside trap.
I wonder how much money S. Korea paid Spain for this royal beating. I'm also curious to know what lessons they may have learned from the total humiliation before the qualifications begin. The only good this did was to expose their weaknesses to their opponents in order to manipulate.
He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt, for he has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice. Albert Einstein
Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better, and the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most that has made it possible for evil to triumph.
I am so happy Spain trashed these filthy S.Koreans. Not only because they are one of our main rivals in the group but also because they eliminated Spain in WC2002 with a clear helping hand from a corrupted referee! It was a pure referring spectacle how S.Korea undeservingly eliminated Spain in that WC.

There is no point in playing a team like Spain (or any other top 5 team) unless:
1) We are going into WC tournament
2) We have a complete TM with every position secured with a solid player (which is not the case at the moment)
What SK is doing right now is practicing with a chef to cook seared scallops to full perfection. But the competition they are preparing for is how to make perfectly cooked rice.
CQ is doing the right thing here by taking two friendlies that suit the level of the competition we have in Asian.
1) Macedonia (which is slightly stronger then most of our competition)
2) Krgy (which is on the same level and little below our competition)
