Too high degree of difficulty can lead to dismotivation, disorder and resignation sometimres, according to economical psycholgy (Joseph Schumpeter).
It was very smart of CQ to choice small teams for testing the young newcomers of TM.
In team bayast jam o joor beshe, hamahang beshe, test beshe.....ba team haye bozorg felan namishe in kar ra kard.....

honestly there are only few people who can be named as " football critic " in Iran, and this dude is not anywhere close to that. instead of analyzing CQ errors/ technical problem s he is talking about why CQ does not want to have friendly with stronger team. also a year ago Dr Z. was interviewed as football analyst and all he could come up with about CQ weakness and technical issues he was arguing that why he has such a high wage.
i dont understand this mentality in Iranian culture that if someone is "pishkesvat " ( old timer in football ) it means he is automatically expert and have the right tool to criticize who ever they want to. if you have something constructive to say that can help TM say it, otherwise shut the mouth and let the dude do his job.

Afazeli is a fool!
Quieroz needs this advantage (FIFA ranking) because of how behind we have fallen regarding infrastructure and professionalism.
Being top in Asia gives us many advantages like being seeded top for group competitions.
Playing Croatia, or Brazil or whoever wont change a think for Iran at the moment.
We first need to build the infrastructure;
1- a Professional Football league (the current one is a joke)
2- Top quality pitches
3- Quality sports science and Medical facilities
4- Professional working standards/ethics/professional outlook
5- Remove bureaucracy and corruption
Then once all that is sorted we can play top ranked teams. It would then be beneficial for Team Melli.
For now he has to do the best to get the players playing as a team. To play as professionals, and not as over emotional, immature egotistical pre madonnas.

As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Good job CQ then.. That is exactly what the Wales football federation have done last couple of years to get higher in the ranking... Since 2014, Wales has had no friendlies and Romania has had one, their goal also to climb up the ranking. For example Poland, they played a friendly against Greece and played 0-0, a result that took Poland from seed group two for the World Cup qualifiers to the third seed group.
