Ryan drew 2-2 against Sunderland today, YES SUNDERLAND the Premier League club (well former) who is now in League 1
Does anyone know if CQ is going to call him up? It isn't fair to call up Ansari or Cheshmi, but not Ryan. Ryan could easily break into PP or SS starting XI but instead he is challenging for promotion in European club! Especially of how respectful he is of CQ, it's the least he could do for him.
Bro ur acting like Sunderland is Everton or something
Hell, Sanat Naft would even beat Sunderland right now
*Ryan started the match and played the full 90 mins.
*Peterborough maintain 2nd place after this win. Although 3rd place team has a game in hand.
*Ryan received a rating of 8 from Peterborough Today.
"Ryan Tafazolli: Just the occasional glimpse of an error, but considering the swirling wind, he was excellent under the high ball 8"
I love this footballer but am simultaneously amazed that he has a 67 page thread.
For a multitude of reasons, I can't see him ever even coming near TM.
If he ever plays for TM then I promise I will pay 40 dollars each to every single person who has posted in this thread before me in this specific post.
Bookmark this.
Just to reiterate my post.
Anyone else in this thread after this post will get 10 dollars to themselves, or 20 dollars to a charity of their choice.
I love this guy, but he has the same chance of playing for TM as other 2nd-tier division half-iranian defenders we have similarly hyped over the last two decades e.g. Ali "El Irani" Manouchehri. It's just unrealistic, particularly for a centre back, to play for TM as the key point is communication with your fellow defenders and the goalkeeper. We had time with the likes of Zandi, now Ghoddos, even Beitashour. But a centre back is different.
Peterborough lost to Brighton U21 on penalty kicks earlier this week in the Checkatrade (amateur cup) Trophy. Game was tied 2-2 at full time, tafazolli played the full match.
Just so we have the proper context of the caliber of the Peterborough team... It's honestly nice we follow pretty much every even partially Iranian player, gives them a good idea how much we care about/appreciate them
agreed that its nice he still gets attention here. But if we just keep this conversation to performance, there is nothing to suggest he is in the same league as PAG, Majid for sure, and Cheshmi and Jalal also for sure. Even if ppl have gripes with cheshmi and maybe montazeri, ryan is not good enough to warrant taking him, who has ZERO higher level experience,AND ZERO communication skills in a position as crucial as CB, over one of those guys, when in the end he would be a certain backup anyways. Might as well just keep the chemistry. Our cbs are the least of our issues atm.
Exactly, i'm interested to see if anyone here really believes he would be picked over 20 other young IPL centre backs. I think all these uncapped guys have a higher chance of playing to TM than him, purely due to communication/chemistry/availability:
Armin Sohrabian, , Milad Badragheh, Ehsan Hosseini, Mohammad NejadMehdi, Mohammad Daneshgar, Hojjat Haghverdi, Mohammad Ghanbari, Mohammad Moradmand, Ali Abdollahzadeh, Hossein Kanaani, Mostafa Salari, Siavash Yazdani, Omid Sam Kan, Mostafa Kiani
I don't want to be negative here, just being realistic. It's nice, if a bit odd, that we have such a long thread on someone who will just never play for TM.
It is well known that he was scouted by teams from the Championship, hence why he is running his contract down and will leave on a free next Summer which will make it more attractive for teams to sign him.
Let’s see how he performs in the Championship next season if he goes there and judge him on that as this is a level that Ezzatolahi and potentially Karim are playing at. If he plays well there then maybe give him a chance in a friendly.
We are not losing anything by giving him a chance in a camp or in a friendly. You observe the player closely, but i will do that IF his team qualify for Championship and he plays as consistent starter there.
